Let's say Gruden leaves us at the altar a la 2012. For whatever reason, he just decides to retire and kick it in the foothills of Appalachia and spend his days in the woods on peyote spiritual trips.

Currie gets the call with the final no and just laughs and wishes him well. Chip Kelly is almost ready to sign with Florida and Curie has always had him as his number 2. He calls Chip mid-flight on his way to Gainesville and Chip changes destinations on the spot, lands in Knoxville, and signs that day.

I think I'd almost enjoy this ridiculous scenario more than just straight Gruden. Well, really just any situation where we land Florida's top pick if Gruden backs out.

It's an intriguing scenario... I really want Gruden.. But I love the idea of crushing Florida's hopes and dreams.

Best case scenario:
- We get Gruden
- Kelly goes to UCLA
- Frost goes to Nebraska
- Mullen stays at State
- Florida ends up with Taggart

*I actually see this as a real possibility

Wallace said he talked to a current coach last night that said that person told him he was contacted by gruden about coaching with him if he takes the job

Sorry to confuse....the "Thursday" was dropped by Hawk'. It really meant nothing...just a day of the week.

Lots of days to choose from before the Vandy game.

Problem is you are posting an unbackable hack of a source... Not sure why you are pushing this self appointed "Gruden's new bud" from Denver so hard.

Pretty sure if it were good news this questionable out of the blue, reasonable people question it as well.

Trey Wallace on FoxSports knox. Verified that he personally talked to a coach last night that told him that Gruden contacted him about an assistant job at UT, if Gruden decided to take it. He seems very sincere about it.

About the only media man I trust right now is Trey Wallace. He has been spot on and hasn’t wavered when his feet are held to the fire. He seems like all systems are still a go.

Hold the line, Gruden faithful. It won’t be long now.
