Truth! I rarely post bc I'm always catching up. Grumors are crazy addictive. I cannot imagine the melee up in here when G-money is finally announced. :)

You assume that getting all of it done is simple. It is far from simple. Too much money involved now and in the future for all the details to get done quickly.

Tennessee is loaded with talent for the next several years. So much that you can sign 80 percent of your class in-state and be a national power.

One of the many black eyes on Butch is letting major recruits leave the shadows of Knoxville for other schools. This hire has to end that. Jon Gruden ends it at minute one. Currie has to know that. He has to know that PJ Fleck isn't going into a living room and saying "forget Saban, Kirby and Dabo" and having it have any impact.

I kind of thought the same thing the other day if he was so sure why not come here and bet anyone who says it will not happen. Would be easy money for him IMO

Mullen is a safe hire. He's not going to get the university in trouble. He'll stay on top of athlete's grades. And we'll probably finish 2nd in the east once in a while but that's about it.

I doubt he even wants to leave, but hiring him would leave me underwhelmed.

Mullen’s teams are consistently bottom tier in the SEC in talent, and often the absolute bottom of the West.

UT needs a coach who can bring in consistent top 5 talent, and also coach to that level. I have no doubt Mullen could over perform at a significantly higher rate than Kelly (as he has a relatively long history of doing so) but I’d be very concerned with Mullen as a recruiter.

I understand what you're saying. It's hard to compare Miss St and UT. Their talent has always been lower tier even before Mullen. It's just who Miss St is. We always say Tennessee recruits itself.....How about that Gruden fella :hi:

That is my mantra, throughout all the craziness.

I was not looking forward to making the drive over for the LSU or Vandy games. Now I am, because of this one fact.
