Olevol cited a previously unblocked pilot plane just went private last week.
Tennessee does recruit itself. Just look at our level of coaching/record the last decade and how well we still recruit on a year to year basis.
Gruden still has to work to recruit. People acting like its a foregone conclusion he would get anyone he wants and top 2 classes by simply flashing his SB ring are setting themselves up for disappointment. Recruiting is much more than that.
Except It wasn't previously unblocked. All of Pilot's aircraft have their tracking blocked on Flight Aware and they have been that way for a long time. I know because I have checked on them in the past. His claim was false.
A hire of Gruden would have the overtones of the Majors hire as a salvation of the program. This shadow is there for him. He worries about his standing if he loses and still wants to make his home in East Tennessee. There's a feel of destiny. It might be a heavy cloak. Tennessee needs a coach who is up to embracing greatness. It does not need to be done perfectly. It does not need to be done without trials and tribulations. It does not need to be done without setbacks. It simply needs to be done. What a golden moment.

The thing about Gruden though is that he loves working hard. Can't imagine he's scared to roll his sleeves up and get to work recruiting. That aspect, combined with his lofty presence is what would make him an absolute monster of a college football coach.
He is a damn leader of men and I want him now.
