Finebaum killing us. Calling us an average job, debating if its a better job than MSU. Get outta here with that crap.

Prove them wrong Currie!

This is a top 12 job in college football if not better.

Lol we are top 15 not debatable. Will have all of the facilities we need this time next year both practice fields and training. Not to mention Neyland.

People focus TOO MUCH on "easy recruiting base" when ranking jobs. Is it a factor to be included? Sure! But it isn't the only thing. Texas A&M is easier to recruit to, but they don't have the pedigree a Tennessee or Oklahoma or Michigan has.

The top 18 jobs in America are probably, in no order:

Alabama
Ohio State
Michigan
Texas
Oklahoma
Notre Dame
Florida
Florida State
Georgia
USC
Tennessee
LSU
Auburn
Penn State
Clemson
Miami
Texas A&M
Nebraska

And then it's a rather decent drop after that. VT, UCLA, Okie State etc would be next, I guess.

Yeah, but he’s a VFL, Hank.

Exactly.

It sounds like he wans to be here, just based on what I have read.

Let me just state my stance once again: What Kiffin did at USC was just short of a miracle. They had major scholarship restrictions, and weren't allowed to go to a bowl game...Yet, they were pulling in 5 tar recruits like nobody's business. Incredible! How they were able to compete for 60 minutes with other GOOD teams over the course of a season, is simply amazing.

And the thing with contacting recruits, that was on Ogre, not Kiffin, as far as I know.

Having said all that, I personally have decided that there would still be way too much bad blood with many fans, to make it worth the risk...

Maybe our next hire, in 5 - 15 years, maybe after his personality mellows a bit more...Who knows?

Finebaum is a smart guy. He knows it's a top 10 job. He's doing it to bring in viewers and the crazies that will call in. That's what his show is all about.

USC had a very talented team when he got there. They were a litttle thin but played in a very weak pac 12 top fo bottom. He did nothing great at USC i can assure you of that.

Finebaum just says whatever will get the biggest reactions. He flips flops on literally everything to make everyone happy/mad. He was the one saying all season that UT is too good for Jones and is a top notch Job and keeping CBJ around is accepting mediocrity and that's not what UT is. He's one of the only media guys I legitimately do not like

Ok guys. Grudecon level 3 here

I have a source. For the first and probably last time, I have a Grumor for you.

My dad is retired but works part time at a golf course in Tennessee. One of the regulars who plays out there that my dad knows well. In other words, guy isn’t a liar. He told my dad that he played Golf with Kippy Brown last week and that while they were playing, Kippy got a call from Gruden asking him if he would be interested in coaching college football as part of his staff.

I am not making this up. This is legit info.

He’s coming!

Well, what did Kippy say?

Bruce Feldman said that he doesn't think Gruden takes the UT job. This could have some substance since he is the one who broke the Jones' firing story.

Nope. Gruden is technically no different then some random person on twitter contacting them. As long as he’s not offering them benefits to stay signed or go to UT then there is no problem.

Hank I could be wrong here but I sense you might be coming around on the Gruden front?
