I have no inside info. Just my from what I read and hear, my fear is Grudens dream job is to go back to Tampa Bay.

I think Gruden is deciding between UT and Tampa Bay at the moment and I think Tampa Bay wins out.

I hope I’m wrong.

TB has no opening and a 2nd year coach. That plus I just don’t think a person would want to go back to a place that fired him. Grudens last year or two he was very public that TB was selling off his talent and wasn’t giving him what he needed to be successful. I doubt he forgot that.

Fact is, most of us were like that. This place is the pit of positivity. We will absolutely believe the best until it is proven otherwise. We defended him to no end after last season. But it became clear to me after Florida that it was over. Took a few others a couple more weeks. But this place is great. We are positive until we have a an absolutely clear reason not to be

I’m with you. I was worried after Tech. I thought maybe they were a break out team this year. But I knew Butch was done during that miserable third quarter at Florida with so many scoring opportunities completely blown by his offense. Even Dooley learned by year three to line up the heavies and cram the ball down their throats when you are a yard or two out. Butch was way too finesse, and that convinced me once for all he could never change. But I digress...

It is amazing to hear the UGA fans down here turn on Kirby so quick.

You would think this man shot their mascot on live TV.

Gruden leaked on 11/23 and officially announced 11/24. Huge setup to the big recruiting weekend

Many fans don’t like him down there. I’m not an NFL guy but when we went through this in 2012 I told my father in law (who lives in that area) we might get Gruden and he said people hated him down there and thought he was a terrible person. Must have been ugly at the end...

I’m not at all surprised. They are far worse than us.

I also think they fear UT and UF making big splash hires and burying them after this class graduates.

I would find it odd that Gruden would sit out of coaching for 10 years only to go back to the team that fired him (if it's true that he's a pipe dream candidate for every NFL team every offseason).

Of course, that same argument can be made against him taking the UT job. But it's different enough that it sort of makes sense. Especially with the dollar signs being thrown around. With the NFL, he's at the mercy of his GM and owner. In college, he can be Saban.

Is there a press conference today?

Never mind, I see link above

Yep, most of my UGA friends now realize it was all a mirage. They beat a bunch of bad teams and an extremely overrated Notre Dame. Most of the are worried about Tech now and then getting embarrassed by Bama or Auburn in the SEC championship.

All their worries about his poor coaching last year came back with a vengeance in one week.

My Brother in law lived in Tampa most his life and is a lifelong Bucs fan. I asked him about Gruden and he laughed. He said “I respect what he did and will always thank him for that, but we don’t need that drama back.” Basically said that him and Glazers didn’t get along and see eye to eye on the long term vision.

Can Patterson recruit?

Well he had a small Christian school ranked as high as #6 this year and has put players in the league, consistently.

They may not have top10 classes but he develops players very well.

I think with the resources UT has, recruiting wouldnt be a problem

Just caught up.

(1) I'm a "podium" guy when it comes to Gruden, but Hubbs' quote about the paycut is interesting.

(2) Volatil: Come on over to JC. Our Hooters just got a facelift and there's some decent talent on the roster. Oh, and Upper East TN is a great place to live, too. I'll treat you and Junior to great seats at an ETSU game next year.
