I agree with you to some respect but if it's Gruden it will happen fast. If we are still talking Gruden in a few weeks it's not happening IMO.

If you're right and it's Gruden it would be harmful to wait. Friendships be damned. He needs to start recruiting asap.

I would buy that if the report came from a Knoxville guy. It came from the 2nd biggest newspaper in NYC. Rodgers had to be the source.

They were top 10 his first year. They have gutted that roster and weren't even trying to be good. They are right in the middle in ppg allowed this year at 16th.

Currie plays things close to the vest. The baseball hire came out of nowhere. It doesn't make sense that there would be all these leaks of potential candidates for a vastly more important hire.

Kacy Rodgers is not a candidate. Let's be realistic here. He doesn't check any boxes. The fact that his name is out there suggests that it's intentional misdirection.

Why? That was all Mike Hamilton. Hammy is gone.

I think GP stays put but we fired the guy that told him he was a mid major coach 9 years ago.

Core of the 2018 class has to be Martinez, Penix, Emerson, Lawless, Litaker, and hopefully Mays. Land those guys and the next coach is set up to make noise in 2019.

I really hope you guys are right on Gruden. Would be quite a day if/when he’s announced.

These latest names are intriguing though, and my list of candidates that will prevent me from deleting my Volnation account and avoiding updates on the player’s plans for the summer holidays has grown.

Exactly. Although I could see him maybe being Gruden's DC.

Would be insane. I just don't see Currie communicating with Rodgers in a way that it would get leaked to the media and set us up to get turned down. Rodgers is a piss-poor candidate for the head coaching position at Tennessee, anyway.

Very little coverage of college baseball. Can't compare them imo other than in one way.

I thinks it worth noting that Currie waited until coaches were done playing before meeting with them
And then he went very quickly. It was reported that Currie met with South Alabama coach at his home one evening until 9pm where his offer was declined. He then called TV and flew to meet with him and midnight. TV was announced the next day.

That's why I see all this going done next Sunday:Monday
