New names popping up as soon as the job officially comes open, and Hubbs says interviews start at the end of the week, should let you guys know Gruden is by no means a done deal.

One thing has me a little settled on the Cade Mays thing is that both he and Martinez tripped together at Ohio State. In his interview he said they were together most of the time. With him remaining committed that gives me some hope that cade comes back with a decent hire.

I honestly think Cade Mays decom was pressure on Butch/AD. I hope he rolls back into the class like a boss.

Hubbs said he's not interviewing anyone in the next few days.

I didn't take that as he would be interviewing people later in the week. He said he'd do some work later in the week.

People are taking everything and running with it right now.

I think Frost is gonna be phenomenal wherever he goes, i feel like he and campbell are head and shoulders above the rest of the "up and comers" from this coaching cycle. I really hope he turns down florida, he and kelly scare me the most as far as candidates for them. Really hope they find a way to screw it up.

Agreed, hate the idea of Frost or Kelly at UF

Has Kacy Rodgers done a good job as DC? I have no idea about the jets, and their defensive ranking isn't impressive for this year. I know rankings don't tell the whole story but still

I have harped on his defense some in the past few weeks but after looking closer at some things I was wrong on that. What he has done on defesne is more impressive to me than his offense. At least he is playing against teams they can score and slowing them down.

Most impressive is the Memphis game. They scored 13 and 6 of that was on a trash touchdown as time expired where they were running play after play instead of just letting the time run out.

Yep. They have slowed most of their oppents down as well.

Right. You can't possibly do better than what he has done this year.

Does it translate to the SEC? Is he the real deal? Remains to be seen but he can't possibly do any better than what he has done. 0-12 to this is impressive.

I agree he can't do better. He can only play the teams on his schedule. I am just not impressed overall because of that.

Full practice on Fridays is beyond dumb. I’m sick at my stomach knowing that the UTAD allowed that to go on. Does no one have a functioning brain over there? Barf.

I hate to say "smokescreen," but I think that's what we're getting right now. The Kacy Rodgers thing is totally bogus. As is Thamel's article and a few other pieces we've seen lately.

Currie wants the Gruden talk to quiet down for another couple of weeks.

I can't believe it was a full practice. No way we went in pads on Friday.

Maybe Hank will clear that up

anyone been to the TCU boards?

Saw this in the Gruden thread from VolNugs:

TCU boards are discussing that Patterson has met with UT 3 times in the last month.

If true I’d be shocked...and wrong...and shocked again.

I think I'm with Ron on this one. There is no list. The hire is done, albeit "unofficially."

Mullen, Frost, Rodgers, Norvell, Morris--all fake news. It's Gruden and has been Gruden for several weeks. But Gruden is buddies with Jones and didn't want to be introduced immediately so as to not make it look like he's been waiting in the wings. Gruden is announced either the Monday after the Vandy game or the day of the SECCG.
