you've been asked this since you posted it, and forgive me if i've missed your reply, but ... how do you know this?

I did answer it. I have a friend who is the hospitality manager. I also need to restate several other points based on the troll responses I’ve gotten (not yours).

1. It’s fairly common that network crews change hotels the night before a game. So this may be nothing. Timing was interesting though.
2. “Checking out” was not meant literally. Just means he’s no longer registered with the hotel
3. Gruden was doing interviews and public appearances all over Charlotte area yesterday - no source needed as that is publicly available info. Sharing this point as several tried to place him in Nashville yesterday.

From that article:

If he elects to leave, Fisher’s buyout is the sum of all monies remaining on the contracts of his assistant coaches not retained by the university.

So, for example, if Fisher leaves, and the university retains none of ten coaches each making $500,000 on one-year deals, Fisher would owe the school $5M within 30 days. Given that many assistants are employed on two- or three-year contracts, this number is believed to be around $7M if Fisher were to leave following the 2017 season.

Again, that’s if he gets fired, not if he accepts another job.
I don't get why it is so hard for people to comprehend what buyout means lol...smh at em. The article says if he leaves he has 30 days to pay sum of all salaries of assistant coaches.

Edit- too late slow typer

Obviously John Currie is not going to be announcing a new coach today. That would be completely ridiculous I have not been paying as close attention to this thread because it was causing me blood pressure problems. If he does have someone already in place he would never come out and announce the new hire on the same day that he announced the firing of the previous coach. The “search“ has to go on for a period of time to give the appearance that people were interviewed and that he did his due diligence on finding the best candidate. I am guessing one week.

Texas fired Charlie Strong and announced Herman's hire within 5 hours of each other.

This is like the third article that was said that samething...

If you would read that article you would see if he left in 2017 it would be about a 7mil buyout.

I didnt post this to derail the Gruden train and like I said I am 100% on it, was just posting what I had heard actually for several weeks now that their may be mutual interest.

So is there another presser at 5:30?

Yes, Currie is announcing the new hire...Botch Junes as HC. Rumor has it he makes sure his players know how to spell anatomical parts, he uses cool catch phrases, likes playing rap songs during third downs, and looks like he always has to take a dump (so this will require a trash can on the side lines)...should be a great hire!

Brandon Cross just reaffirmed his commitment to Tennessee. I appreciate recruits that commit to a school and stay loyal, but I understand those looking around with a coaching change too. Interestingly, Cross' background was a picture of "Chucky" from the movies.
