Hello VN, I see the last 24 hours was a wild one. So Jones is gone and I feel the same today as I felt yesterday. The next coach is what will change the way that I feel. Apathy is full blown. The next coach better be HUGE.

Sure the grads are VFL, however, drive down the road and count the Memphis logos vs the UT logos. I would wager there's as many Mississippi/Bama/Arkansas logos as there are Vol logos.

Shelby county has more Memphis fans because Memphis is in Shelby county (I know, right?)... In every other county, there are more Tennessee fans than any other team. I’ve lived in West Tennessee all my life. McNairy, Weakley, Madison, and now Shelby. UT is the dominant fan base in West TN by far.

What upsets me about the tweet from swain is, if he had that info, why wait until now? Put the info out there. Doing it like this is cowardly.

Out of respect for the current players and the Helm family whom it happened to. Swain looks at many things from the perspective of a player, and thinks about what he would want done if he was still playing for UT.

No matter what a player may think of his coach, he doesn't want bad press and controversy to surround his team. You only have 4 years to play, and playing those years in a media circus is a ****ty way to spend those years.

Agreed! I don't believe this crap and never will. He sucked as a coach, but I'm not down with all the personal attacks. Think about it: if the crap we heard about abuse of players were true, he would have been fired with cause way before today, end of story!

In a full team meeting Jones told Helm to write something down on his note pad. Helm always had a pen and pad to take notes. Jones said he had watched film on Helm and had notes for him to take down.

Just not true...at all. Shelby County alone, much less the rest of West TN, has an enormous amount of faithful Vols fans. I don't where you guys get this. I was at a relatively small party last night with at least 7 UT grads. We just want to win.

I agree. I travel a lot and the fans I encounter most are Ohio State, Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Oregon. Pretty much in that order. I think most people would be surprised at the following UT has outside of the southeast.

I’m not knuck, and don’t know what the announcement you speak of. But did read just a bit ago in one of the media articles that an announcement is expected at 5. But I believe it involves announcing butch is fire officially to the world.
