Like I said I think Currie believes Butch was the best coaching option on staff to get to a bowl game. I don't think he's "playing games", I think he's doing his job. UF fired Mac mid season and how'd that work out?

I posted in the FF, the end of the season OR near the end, is business as usual for Currie, it's just how he operates.
No one on our staff is saving the season and timing isn't changing our ultimate hire.

And that hire is what I will judge Currie on in the end, regardless of how badly I want Jones gone now.

Currie doesn't think an interim has a better chance of getting this team to a bowl game. Virtually no one at UT thinks this team is getting to a bowl game. Even at 5-7, UT doesn't have the APR to make a bowl. Currie is on campus early for the LVs. He's supposed to speak to the team. So normal Sunday meetings were bumped up.

In South Africa. Guy at airport asking me why Butch isn’t fired yet and shaking his head about our loss to Mizzou. Purdue beat them, he said!

Glad you made it safely. Should be good warm over there right now. I think its about the beginning of the summer months. Can't wait to hear about all you see.

When I get out of this dolphin show, I expect Butch to be fired and Gruden to be announced. so get to work, peckers.

So he still thinks we can win out? If that's the case I am starting to question whether Currie is all that.

Well, overall UF did beat UK and lost to UGA by a couple fewer points than UT did before the firing. Lost by fewer points to Mizzou and lost to USC by 8 away while UT lost to them by 6 at home after it. Feels like a wash to me. In the meantime, they are hopeful and onto the coaching search while UT looks worse each week with the extreme fan angst (things like #emptyneyland, fire Butch signs everywhere, and repeated mocking from national commentators). It hasn't worked out great for UF, but it has arguably worked out better for them thus far.

History may prove the UT approach better based on the next hire, but not at this moment.

Titans are about to win the AFC south lol. Book it. As soon as Watson went down at the Texans that cleared the way for the Titans.

As a Titans fan, I hope you're right and you may very well be. I just don't think it's the lock you see it as. We do agree on Houston being toast though. Jacksonville is the competition at this point, and they've been playing well recently. I could easily see the Titans finishing 9-7. If that happens and the Jags edge them out in the division, Mularkey would likely be done. I hope it doesn't work out that way, but I don't think it's that far fetched.

He's here til the end huh? Lmao what a joke

No. It's widely assumed that we are likely to lose out and officially become the worst team in UT history. The time to move to interim has passed. Now the players will either play for pride or they won't. Last night, they didn't.

It's funny that the guys on the Vols subreddit make fun of VN (although they are presumably talking about the FF).

Those guys are unbelievably misinformed about the program and CFB in general. I guess it should be expected seeing as how the average age over there is late teens/early 20s.

These players don't want to go to a bowl and have another month of practices. These next two games will be ugly.

The Jags suck and will finish the season no better than 8-8. Titans only have one loss left on the schedule and that is Thursday at Pittsburgh.

While you're right, it still seems to me he could be fired today for no other reason than to appease the fanbase and give the appearance a plan is being formulated behind the scenes.

You, I, everyone knows we're talking to replacements right now. But they may see this as an opportunity to show it publicly.
