Who cares if Dooley beat him when he was at Cincy? Tennessee had way more talent than Cincinnati did. Out of all of the criticisms you can use to say that Butch isn't the man for the job anymore, this one is BS and has no significance whatsoever.

It’s significant because Dooley was a baaaaaaaaaaaad coach. History is important.

Dan Mullen will not be the next coach here. I'm that confident in this belief, that landing Gruden is more likely.

Like I said I think Currie believes Butch was the best coaching option on staff to get to a bowl game. I don't think he's "playing games", I think he's doing his job. UF fired Mac mid season and how'd that work out?

Exactly they had same issues from reading their boards. Certain coaches with their own set of favorites and a rift betweenness shannon and other assistants. alot easier to keep people in line at home than with road games as well. Now we are done with travel

Yep - I thought for sure an interim bump would occur but that's not a guarantee.

Mularkey isn't on the hot seat, so I don't know why the Titans would be mentioned. Was that a typo?

The Titans have not at all been the breakout team most expected this year. I could easily see Mularkey being gone at the end of this season unless they finish a lot stronger than they've started.

Also, I've never believed Gruden would coach a college program. If he does return to coaching, I think it will be in the NFL, so Titans would make more sense than UT IMO.

I think the DL is just worn out. Maybe i missed subbing out guys, but I think this is what you get when you have about 4 good dudes with virtually no rest during the football season. Maybe they quit, buy I think it is more, they are just worn out. Vickers would not say he was tired, but admitted there were lots of snaps that he and the others have been playing. Development is one thing that hurts us here, but I think lack of depth is the main culprit on the DL. What you all think?

Titans are about to win the AFC south lol. Book it. As soon as Watson went down at the Texans that cleared the way for the Titans.

They refuse to play young guys early in season so our starters wear down and get injured as season goes. It's pathetic. I don't even think I saw Shy last night while they gashed is up the middle. Adjust you damn morons

John Pennington on Sports Source says his contact in the AD's office says an announcement is coming today but no official press conference has been announced.

Titans hype was a year too soon. The secondary is still atrocious. Still, even with that flaw, team would be 6-2 if Mariota hadn't missed the Miami game.

I'm not disagreeing with you on that and I believe he was probably right in regard to what was best for the team through the rest of the season. What I question is your comment that pissing off the fans was a bonus to him.

The fact that they're leading the AFC South and that, barring another injury to Mariota, they're likely going to win the division, I don't think he's on the hot sear.

Not that I have an insider status, but I actually do know a lot of people that are in the titans organization and I can promise you it would take quite a bit for that job to open up. Ms. Strunk and the GM really like Mike. After Whisenhunt was fired he was given the interim job immediately. Then after the season there was hardly a "coaching search". Couldn't see him ousted unless he does something super stupid.
