Currie's early arrival this morning feels to me like it not so much business as usual. Now maybe he's meeting with Jones early because of the Lady Vol game? I don't know.

I know Tennessee returned at 4am and Currie was in the office 5 hours later.

Your post have been more positive overall lately. About to be more positive than mine. Does that mean I am now a Georgia fan? :)

I'm numb. Sad but numb. Pretty much come to the conclusion that we are a going to be a 7-8 win team for the foreseeable future. Maybe we get a coach that can eventually get us to Atlanta but it's going to take some years to fix yet again.

I’m sure it’s already been posted and I just missed it but we currently have a losing streak vs every SEC team.

He better march out Gruden if that's his formula. If he's intentionally getting the fans in a frenzy, he can't march out Willie Taggart or similar.

I don't think he's trying to piss off the fans, that's just a bonus. I think Currie's not in a hurry to fire Butch, he truly believes Butch was the best option on staff to get to a bowl game (even though most of us disagree). Now it's pretty clear that's not possible anymore (we're not beating LSU) so I expect him to pull the plug today. And announce Gruden sometime soon after.

John Gruden: Jason La Canfora reports, “according to league sources,” that some believe that this may be the year that Gruden leaves the analyst booth, and La Canfora goes on to cite a return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or the Tennessee Titans as the two teams that may intrigue him the most.

I hope you're right. I'm still not understanding why pissing the fans off would be a bonus. Even if he dies march Gruden out there, I'll still question his skill in how he's handled this. I get tired of the games these ADs play. Seems unnecessary to me.

As seaofOrange pointed out, Butch can claim all 14 teams have beat him in his last meeting. Because Dools boat raced him. We should have known then.

Who cares if Dooley beat him when he was at Cincy? Tennessee had way more talent than Cincinnati did. Out of all of the criticisms you can use to say that Butch isn't the man for the job anymore, this one is BS and has no significance whatsoever.

It’s just fun to say Butch lost to every sec team. Or sad and depressing

Some close to Gruden noted the Titans job as another that would uniquely appeal to Gruden should it open up -- he has strong family ties to Tennessee and has been a champion of quarterback Marcus Mariota -- noting they suspect the former coach would be selective about which jobs he would entertain but acknowledging the field this offseason could skew uniquely to his liking.

Right. There are literally hundreds of better criticisms for this hack.

Like I said I think Currie believes Butch was the best coaching option on staff to get to a bowl game. I don't think he's "playing games", I think he's doing his job. UF fired Mac mid season and how'd that work out?

Over reaction. How many times do legit insiders have to tell you folks Butch has been gone behind scenes since UGA. If he wasn't we wouldn't be talking to Gruden and others the whole time.

The players were still playing hard until last night. It's been said by same insiders there is a big split among assistants that making on an interim tears it apart. Currie shows the next coach a perception that he will stick by his guy through heat. Also while everyone busy crying about Currie they aren't focusing on who he is talking too. People that know him have consistently said he doesn't allow leaks and likes people focusing one area while he is working somewhere else.

Now he can split with Jones today with no more road games
