Just curious, in your opinion what would firing Butch weeks ago(Or now) have changed for 2018?


And I'm not saying I'm opposed to firing him rn, I've wanted him gone for a long while. But I don't see how firing him mid season does anything for the future, and it's debatable imo that it does anything at all for this season

I just wanna say I love all you guys.

So much negativity on the board now days. I'm not sure how some of you guys haven't had a major stroke or heart attack by now.

It'll get better. We've hit rock bottom. No way but up now. Relax. :)

In 2012 the team quit on Dooley. The loss to vandy Vandy was embarrassing.

Dooley was fired, the next week the team beat the crap out of UK to avoid becoming the first team to lose 8 games. The team had fun, they played loose, and enjoyed their last game.

Firing butch now does a lot of things: sends a message to fans that we have a standard, gets the monkey off the back of the players, allows things to begin to settle down and get back to focusing on football.

The players have quit. Who can blame them? Firing butch is for them, especially the seniors, to play a couple more games at home without the boos of butch and knowing he’s gone but still standing there.

Edit: for 2018 specifically, it could be the difference in recruits. But I think that’s the wrong question. You have to focus on short term as well. The last 2 Home games are going to be a joke. The perception of the program is terrible.
