I saw a post about the OG's in the Gruden thread, and listed the old threads from 2012 (and earlier) I went to see if I could see some of my posts. Anyway, I saw where Bruin was mulling over the idea of Kirby Smart as our coach. Considering we just had a Dooley and a Saban disciple, I imagine that was why people were not thrilled, but he was not wrong, at least it doesn't appear to be now..

The grapevine saying things about the RF, have their heads so far up their own azzes, they couldn't find daylight with a pair of binoculars.

There's believers and non believers here, EXACTLY like the Gruden threads. The only difference is because this isn't the Gruden thread, conversation between the 2 groups is not only tolerated but encouraged.

I’m not a believer but I enjoy reading the rumors, would love it if Gruden was our coach, and sincerely hope that I am wrong about him not coming. So, I’m not a true negagrude. I enjoy listening and frequent the Gruden thread looking for a shred of information I can feel confident in.

Oh I'm the same. Love the Gruden threads and think there is a chance, I'm just not one of the "it's a done deal" folks.
When I have doubts about a rumor or poster, I come here to get everyone's opinion. I don't do it in the Gruden thread out of respect. But then a couple of them come here to read and go back and complain.

It's 1 thing to ask that people not bring down the Gruden thread, it's ridiculous to whine about people openly discussing the subject anywhere on VN. (Not 5 finger - but a couple of posters making completely false claims about the RF the other night)

Ok. My challenge to a poster like 5 finger is to give me the top 5 or 10 reasons they are convinced Gruden is coming. I’d be interested to hear. I’ve had a hard time following all the rumors and would be curious which ones have been the most persuasive.

Obviously not 5finger - but for me, reserved people like Larry and Hubbs suggesting we have made the huge offer, gets me excited. Doesn't mean he'll accept, but I do believe he has more reason to this time.

And surely we're due a break at some point. I mean we have to be right?

It's not just the budget for recruiting, it is also the budget for assistants. There is also the factor that Tennessee has more prestige (even though that has suffered recently) and Knoxville is much nicer than Starkville.

Has he done well against Saban? Not necessarily beat him but at least made a game of it ? Understand talent differential.

So, Kelly is Florida's Gruden, to some degree. I think that I would love to see Gruden, Kelly and Smart duke it out in the East.

Nobody in the SEC ends up with Kelly and every hiring fanbase blames their respective AD for “messin it up”. :)
