The “it’s done” and “it’s over” type comments to me are ridiculous and extremely misleading simply because CBJ hasn’t even been fired yet and as it’s a public institution not a private, you can’t even legally make an offer.

Now has an offer been made behind the scenes? Probably. Probably more of an interest gauge though than a nuanced offer laying out stipulations and guidelines (which I’m sure will weigh heavily on JG’s actual final decision).

The reason I personally think this is getting a bit ridiculous is that last time around we were in the exact same situation where discussions happened behind the scenes but no formal offer laid out on the table.

Until butch jones is formally fired and a formal offer has been made, I personally have a hard time buying any of this.

Strange how much my confidence oscillates from week to week. I can go from "Currie really has this figured out. We're getting Gruden/Kelly/Patterson level hire!" to "Currie is incompetent. UT is a trainwreck. Prepare for Coach Googlefield or Bobopedia." in no time.

I'd love Gruden to be our next coach, but once again I think we are getting some very big and bold warning signs that this thing won't happen. The Kiffin interview. Hubbs being completely noncommittal. LWS at 5%. The folks in this forum with contacts in the AD telling us it won't happen (DeerPark, Hank, GFW). Pretty much every legitimate news reporter telling us it won't happen.

I'm completely expecting not to get Gruden. I'm at less than 1%.

But there are others I'd be fine with, including Mullen (who i'm convinced is our next coach).

I get it, but alternatively, ESPN is not renewing MNF. Gruden has spoken about the Tennessee job in 2012 not so long ago. Deerpark has as much knowledge about what is going on as Ron, he said so himself. GFW doesn't bring info anymore for reasons already stated. I trust LWS more than anyone on this board, but I also trust Trey Wallace and his information has a proven track record (called FLA).

Don’t know if posted but Kiffin said on Clay Travis this morning he didn’t think Gruden will coach colllege football. He thinks if he coaches it will be NFL. This is based off of their relationship not anything he said to Kiffin. Good interview.
