Agreed. Hes Bobo to me. He is on my list of Im out till next fall if this guy is hired, and Im going ahead and reserving myself a spot on the Gruden 2020 coaching search thread.
Brohm did great things at WKY. He took over a terrible Purdue program and its his first year there. I wouldnt base my opinion of him off of his first year at Purdue.
Likely pretty high up there, in that top group. But I also think there are a few options in that top group that make more sense to him financially and from an operational stand point.
Guy like Gruden comes in and demands A LOT.
Gotta remember curries only been here a year and if you have a football coach coming in demanding full operational autonomy there will be some issues with that. And the risk, if say, I*t* doesnt work out with Gruden as a coach. Whether thats compliance, academic, or even on the field. And thats got to be weighing on his mind. Fact is, if Currie hires JG and I*t* doesnt work out, I*t* would be tough to overcome. Whereas, if he hires a Brohm, Taggart, etc. you get guys who are much less demanding as far as autonomy is concerned and NCAA compliance etc; & benefit of the doubt if things dont work out.
Gruden is asking for a lot of autonomy here and that to me is what i see as the biggest detractor in the mind of Currie IMO
Sorry for the fragmented post Im not able to sit down and type this one out
