Fair enough. There's only two ways this can go. Either Gruden will be the coach, or he wont. I will be excited as hell if he is but will also be excited if hes not as long as its not some snore fest coach.

Its entertainment at this stage really. Thats all.

I don't mind you bringing Grumors in here; keep em coming. I pop into the Gruden thread all the time.

It's Babyvol's incredulity at people not buying the Grumors that just seems...insincere. He, as much as anyone, should understand the skepticism.

I dont know Cade Mays and have never seen him play. But some guy called in yesterday while Hubbs was on WNML and asked why they thought Cade and Catholic in general had received so many Unsportsmanlike penalties.

Brent said something along the lines of Cade had gotten a rep for it and they were looking to call it on him more. Like I said, dont know him, havent watched him play.

Serious question if it is Gruden what is the timeline?

Does it get announced in late November, him continue MNF and recruit on the side and not be under contract till the MNF season is over?

Does it get announced late Nov and he quits MNF midseason?

Or does it stay under table till MNF is over?

Ok, so everybody knows who this Trey Wallace guy is, right? Im not listening but apparently he is on the radio with Basillio. Heres cliff notes of some of the discussion.



Wallace "Jon Gruden has been on the Haslam plane to MNF to Knoxville and Haslam is using it to entice Jon Gruden to come to Tennessee and accept the offer"

"I trust the people I get this information from"

"Would not comment on a meeting last week with Gruden at Blackberry farms"

"Jon Gruden has met with Tennessee and discussed him coming here absolutely"


Basilio just asked if Wallace believed Gruden met with Athletics boosters at Blackberry farms this past weekend and Wallace said "No comment, I can't comment on that without giving too much"

If we do hire Jon Gruden, I don’t give a flying f___ who Florida hires. Hell, I wouldn’t care about anyone’s else coaches.

I wonder how Florida hiring a 13-7 mid major coach that hasn’t played anyone will play with their large boosters.

I think it’s announced shortly after Butch is gone. Clearly the folks running this seem to want Butch to finish the season and announce the new coach right after. But if we lose this weekend Butch might not make it another week. If that happens all bets are off on when his replacement is announced. My guess is if they have Gruden he’ll be announced very soon after Butch is done whether that’s tomorrow or after Vandy.

JMO.

I don't know that there is one, and anything at this point couldn't be substantiated.

I think that is the more logical timeline.

I think he would finish the MNF season.

I can't see how Currie can hold out til late Dec? with an announcement. And or keep the lid on it that long. Especially with the early signing period. Unless it just can't be done another way.
