Dan Mullen went 5-7 in the regular season last year, made a bowl game because their APR ranking qualified them, then squeaked out a 17-16 win over Miami, Ohio in the St. Petersburg bowl. For that grand accomplishment Mullen was rewarded this past February (2017) with a 2-year contract extension. If something like that happened at Tennessee there would not only be riots in Knox County, there would be riots in the following Tennessee counties as well.

Anderson County
Bedford County
Benton County
Bledsoe County
Blount County
Bradley County
Campbell County
Cannon County
Carroll County
Carter County
Cheatham County
Chester County
Claiborne County

Given the national and international reach of the Tennessee fanbase, we'd likely see riots spreading to other states and eventually other nations (Thailand, China, S. Korea, Germany, etc.) and before you would know it the long awaited WWIII would engulf this entire planet. Even the international space station would not escape the carnage. There could be other civilizations in the galaxy that we don't yet know about but have the technology to follow our games by picking up and decoding signals from our satellites. This could lead to galactic upheaval and even spread to other galaxies. Obviously, the end of the universe is a steep price to pay for such idiocy but it is what it is and we need to think long and hard about the risk reward in a situation like this. jmo.

This is the honest truth. We cannot risk such catastrophe by hiring Mehlen

Due to time constraints, we have moved forward to butchna’s reponse portion of this telecast. Added footnote to that useful information before the long-winded standup, MSU is the first SEC school to win a bowl game AND still finish with a losing record.

He's going to Georgia cause he's weak. As you said, a great player will make it to the NFL regardless of where he is. But this deal with Cade Mays shows his character. I'm typically not hard on kids who decide to not go to Tennessee. I didn't attack Tee Higgins last year when he chose Clemson.

But this deal with Cade Mays is different. He isn't just a local kid, he's also the son of a VFL. He has been committed for over 2 years and was one of the most vocal peer recruiters that put this class together. You would think this would be the one kid that is more loyal to the program than to the current staff or how things look.

Plus the fact he wants to go to a rival like Georgia instead that is riding high this year makes him look even weaker.

Cade Mays = frontrunner

I believe you have some good points. We will see if he ends up at Georgia. As an early enrollee, the new coach will not have very much time to turn him. Hopefully, he will hit it off very well with him and the OL coach, whomever that is.

Big difference in UNC basketball and MSU football.

I heard a blurb on the radio today that UNC may not be out of hot water just yet. Apparently, for some accreditation or certification body, they at one time claimed that those were legitimate classes. I think it was Feinstein in one of those "my take" blurbs on WNML.

Not that it matters but don’t think Richmond is making the trip.

I know. Butch called me a few minutes ago and told me to go ahead and get on a plane for Columbia. I told him that while I'm an alum and might technically have eligibility, I'm 38, I've never played organized football, I haven't exercised in a month and I weigh only 210 pounds. He said yeah but did you watch Devante Brooks play last week? I said yeah. And he said then get on the plane.

I'm packing my bags right now.

Mentioned last night the concussion protocol was bs with Seahawks and now it sounds like they are in legit trouble.

I’ll be at the game with my dad. I fully expect one of us to be asked to suit up on the OL.
