has bcarter been around? I know he said he was going out to the woods or something for a little while like 3 weeks ago...has he been around?

On 11/6 he posted:

"I will check out of this thread at this point just too much to do in life and no time to keep up or be able to stomach the craziness. This thread has reached levels of crazy we never breached the surface of in 2012. John Currie could post himself that Gruden is a non starter and people would say it's all misdirection."

I have a question, and pardon me if it has been addressed. But we don't currently have a coaching vacancy. If Butch were fired Saturday night/Sunday morning, isn't there some state law that requires all state jobs be posted for X number of days? I thought I remembered that being an issue last go 'round.

Preciate it in advance.

Hello and Grude Morning (on the West Coast):

I'm slammed at work, but took a minute to skim the morning news. I had a thought regarding the scenario, and wanted to share. As always, this is complete speculation.

With regards to the timing, I think it is very possible that Butch could be announced as being done at the end of the season, essentially at any time.

He would, practically speaking, serve the role of interim (or lame duck) coach. This is a bit unusual, but not totally unreasonable. Making a statement to the effect of, "We've decided to go a different way for next season. Out of respect for Coach Jones, and the tremendous job he's done here, we've asked him to stay on throughout the regular season. We feel that it is the most respectful course of action...."

I'm not saying this will happen, just that it is possible for it to happen. It would potentially be Pareto efficient for all parties. The AD gets to get out from under the cloak of secrecy (and save face. Butch gets to finish with his guys, without the uncertainty looming over him. The fans can sleep at night (and not hit F5 here so often). The assistant coaches don't have to worry about the power struggle. JG can get the boost in recruiting from his brand power. Etc.
This exactly

Good morning Grudenites! Today is my birthday, we need to keep the grude news flowing today. 100% all in!

Does it really matter? I was all over those 2012 threads, but I dont need a title. I need to see Gruden behind the podium. That should be the ultimate reward for anybody.

I think we will be too happy to worry about pointing fingers

in all honesty, this, this, and more this.
it's all about Gruden at this point.
can't wait.

and everybody that looked at me like i was wearing a tin foil hat, well, i may make some for them, or i may just smile like the cat that ate the bird. dis gon be good.

Now, I would be more inclined to believe a similar type announcement could be made Sunday if it was of this context...so maybe...good thoughts

No. This has been gone over countless times.

No, that has been addressed, most eloquently by HearForGrumors. In short, they could have multiple head coaches if they want. Nothing contractual stops them from hiring multiple and just like any high level job (say a senior director or VP at my government establishment), it doesn't have to be posted for a certain time frame or at all.

There is no requirement for the job to be posted. It, jobs such as chancellor, etc. are exempt per many other smarter than I folks here in Grudenville.
