Don't know the guy, but seems like he knows a little sports...also takes some balls to tag all those well known sports analysts lol

I still think end of season, but I'd love this to happen Sunday.

I quit being a lurker in November, 2012 and began to particpate/follow the Gruden threads but in no way am I an OG. That Honor belongs to a very few who started those threads and brought information. The, um, picture of their avatars on The Rock was posted in one of the earlier 2017 threads!

Now, am I a True Grudenite? ABSOLUTELy!!!

I held my spot in the Pub thread we adjourned to after it ended last time.

Does it really matter? I was all over those 2012 threads, but I dont need a title. I need to see Gruden behind the podium. That should be the ultimate reward for anybody.

I think we will be too happy to worry about pointing fingers

I think he and the other state run guys are just waiting on the go ahead to bust loose.

I think you're right...in their situation, it's gotta be tough. I always wanna be first to tell good (or bad, lol) news to the family, but knowing that's where I drew my livelihood, I'd keep my mouth shut...but I would tell my friends. And there's where some of our Grumors come from!

I would hope the "devoted follower of Christ" part of his bio would keep him from outright lying in a public forum.
He may not be lying, but is his source lying? Then again it may be true. I could see Butch getting fired after probable loss and more heat on Currie and from what we hear he wants hire quickly after termination.

has bcarter been around? I know he said he was going out to the woods or something for a little while like 3 weeks ago...has he been around?

BCarter is so OG he got a restraining order slapped on him. Definitely gave his all back in 2012. He should also be sitting at the front of the parade.

What CladInOrange said about some in AD having to stay behind in Knoxville this weekend, could this be why?

Butch Jones is not going to be fired after Missouri, I don't believe any ounce of this report. He will not be retained after we finish 5-7.

You're right I think. The university is the only sports game in town so you have to take care of your connections there

Not buying the Sunday announcement...nothing makes sense about that process. Yes, "a leak" is one explanation, but that does not mean an announcement will be made. I hold fast to November 27th as the day of reckoning... But hey, if it does happen Sunday, all the better!!!

Soon!

I agree, I don't think Sunday will see any announcement. However, It would not surprise me if they did to give the fan base a jolt for the last two home games with a bowl game on the line. Will see. Soon!

Barrett Salee said it’s not happening. Doesn’t see Gruden as a college coach dealing with 17-21 year olds. Then again, why would he know whether or not Gruden is interested.

Hello and Grude Morning (on the West Coast):

I'm slammed at work, but took a minute to skim the morning news. I had a thought regarding the scenario, and wanted to share. As always, this is complete speculation.

With regards to the timing, I think it is very possible that Butch could be announced as being done at the end of the season, essentially at any time.

He would, practically speaking, serve the role of interim (or lame duck) coach. This is a bit unusual, but not totally unreasonable. Making a statement to the effect of, "We've decided to go a different way for next season. Out of respect for Coach Jones, and the tremendous job he's done here, we've asked him to stay on throughout the regular season. We feel that it is the most respectful course of action...."

I'm not saying this will happen, just that it is possible for it to happen. It would potentially be Pareto efficient for all parties. The AD gets to get out from under the cloak of secrecy (and save face. Butch gets to finish with his guys, without the uncertainty looming over him. The fans can sleep at night (and not hit F5 here so often). The assistant coaches don't have to worry about the power struggle. JG can get the boost in recruiting from his brand power. Etc.

Butch would have to be fired immediately after that game. It doesn't make sense for it to happen in that time frame. Why not wait until after vandy, they waited this long.

You start getting decomits from 4 and 5 star instate recruits could possibly speed things up.

I endorse this.

Anything with a timeline attached should be heavily scrutinized. Just sit back and let the process finish. We got what we wanted, enjoy that till the presser.

I totally understand.... your heart was in it and that certainly makes you a Grudenite but it did not cost you on this board as it did those who posted publicly and often in 2012 did.

I will forgive any and accept all who come aboard, but I will never forget the five years of mockery and distrust that it brought to my posts and many others after the deal feel through in 2012 ..

The point Boro is making and I agree... the term OG cost us something on VN to own it.... the lurkers were NOT know by the masses, so they didn't have to pay that price of ridicule for five years.... some of us even left the board for a while (me included) ....

But welcome my Grudenite friend... glad you are here and openly taking the risk with us this time.... hopefully we come out on the winning side for once, along with our pitiful football program

If Gruden falls through this time, I expect to be granted OG status in 2021 when we go after him again.
