Well, I never worried about going shotgun at the goal line with Dobbs under center.

Guy was money at getting in.

I personally don't care what scheme we run, just so that we are smart enough to match the players to scheme or the scheme to
The players
I agree to some degree, but Butch outsmarts himself so much.

Man, I want to believe the Gruden stuff, I really do. But every time I get close, Boro and DTO show back up.
And as they go through their whole shtick... "some of the info coming out (not gonna say which info), is matching the info I refused to share last week"., I remember this was the the start of the entire ride, again.

No matter how this has grown or who is giving legit possibilities now, I just can't forget the root source. 2 insiders that every single poster in the Gruden thread, wait on for confirmation.
And neither one of them has ever given a single post containing information.
Not 1 SINGLE post of information from the base of the entire thing. Amazing.

I didn't hijack squat. I just told you how my dad who has a bronze star and Purple Heart feels about it.

I don't think he was accusing you of that. I think he was referring to people losing their minds over things and pushing their agendas behind the auspices of supporting veterans.

There were tons of people vouching for Boro in 2012. DTA...except Larry.

Exactly! Don't buy into the fools gold, it's the same as last time. They are taking everyone for a ride.

I get that, I pretty much ignore them. There is a lot more info in there if you can read through the bull**** though. I don’t put any weight in them, but the fact that Larry, JAV and have alluded to the fact that UT is all in and Gruden is entertaining it and thinking about it is reason enough for me to believe.

Gruden was talked about for a little bit today on the radio in Atlanta in regards to both the Tennessee and Tampa jobs.

The hosts just kind of went over the end of his time in Tampa and the decline if the team. It kind of started declining when Rich McKay left and Gruden got control over personnel. McKay had drafted Lynch, Sapp, Brooks and there were 4 other pro bowl starters when he left.

You're probably right. It isn't just about veterans, it's about the entire country. Using a stance to push an agenda isn't anything new for either side.

I had a lot more typed out but this is the football talk thread, not the political forum. People don't want to see this in here.

Go Vols

I didn't know all that. Yea he'll need a top notch recruiting coordinator. And a Bob Welton type. He shouldn't, and can't, do it all.

I just hope, that part of his demands require a team of analysts and scouts like Saban has. If we can assemble that.... money.

Well we arent getting Saban, Urban, or Dabo and since no other college coaches seem to be on their level then either a youngster like Frost that gets there one day or Gruden if he is what we hope are our only chances to reach their level. Years have shown they dominate the current competition other than a year here or there. No thx on any of those other guys or we are just gona stay right where we are now. Maybe an unknown from the nfl that jumps on the money.

Boro is full of it. You can ignore those clowns and filter for the nuggets that mean something.

I understand and agree on Larry, Jav etc. My concern is just the possibility of 'the snowball effect'.

Are they hearing things because those things really happened? Or are they hearing things because even their sources have gotten caught up in an out of control desire to believe.

The GM still had control over personnel but I'm sure Gruden had much more say than with McKay. The big problem was the roster purge right after the super bowl, that fact that they didn't have a first or second round pick for two years, and the owners were being cheap.
