Paul Finebaum said he does NOT think Jon Gruden will be the next coach at Tennessee... He said he thought Tennessee will go after him but that he would not accept because of the long hours

Preacher, we never know the WHOLE story inside a person's head at any point in their lives. There are motivations to play down (or play up) possible future jobs, careers, directions they could take their lives.
And you're right, Jon never said he wouldn't. He never locked the door.
But in an interview just a few months ago with PewterReport.com, he was quoted as saying,
That's sort of the coaching interview equivalent of the job interview response, "My biggest shortcoming? It's that I just care too much and don't know when to quit" answer. So you have to take it with a big grain of salt.
But that's what people are referring to when they say Jon said he didn't want to coach at the college level.
Doesn't apply to the Vols, of course, because we're awesome and he'll find a way to stay inside the rules for us.
Go Vols!

Mullen is 39-22 over the past 5 seasons with Mississippi St resources and talent in the West.
Butch is 34-26 over the past 5 seasons with Tennessee resources and talent in the East.
If Dan Mullen is our "worst case scenario" hire, count me in. Anyone thinking Tennessee is above Dan Mullen has had their head buried in the sand for the past 10 years.

i know what they're referring to, and he never said i wouldn't coach college.
i'm not upset with you.
i'm upset with the nice people that come into this thread and spout off a bunch of garbage and take a dump on everyone in this thread because we believe and hope that Gruden will be our coach. they use this quote, and twist it to say something he did not say, to prove a point that they cannot make otherwise.
again, he did not say he would not coach college.
period.
and again, i ain't mad bro, not at you or anybody else.
especially after the news that's broke today.
you kidding me? heck no, i ain't mad.
Some people might want to slow down on the Haslam bashing. Remember Haynesworth's last round of tweets. He was praising him. Not saying we should hold on to every word Haynesworth says but you have to take bits and pieces of this stuff and watch how things are unfolding. If Trey Wallace's info is true there are going to be a lot of folks out there taking back what they said. Would love to hear how Basilio reacts.
