That doesn't make sense. I thought we discussed this before and it is the other way around. He is owed on buyout for every year he has left and the monthly would be prorated. The buyout would be more if we fire now vs. December.
I think everyone would be surprised how many of us this post describes to a T.I think you would be surprised how many of us are long-time lurkers. I have been here a long time, just never post.
I was here in 2012, totally bought in and had my hopes dashed just like the rest.
A little over a month ago, I decided to stick my toes in the water again. And just as I was about to walk away, the beav entered and things got really good. I was hooked and have been here ever since. (My husband can't believe I am buying this again lol)
I have learned so much more this time though - VCs, MOUs, booster power structures, etc. what a great ride!
Thanks to all the OGs and insiders for bringing the info and educating all of us. And especially to those like Boro and SFD - so patient and trying to keep us grounded.
To those of you in Georgia like me, I can't wait til we can trash talk all these Dawgs again!
SOON!!!
Yeah was getting caught up on posts and noticed another person who responded to you earlier. HAS to be one of my cousins, because he was talking about my grandmother. Funny.

Does anyone else find Ruckers incessant denials strange? Wasnt he on the staff with Hargis back in 2012? And now his coworkers at 247 have acknowledged there is real smoke, even Danny Parker who had previously given it a 0% chance. What would make Rucker so obstinate in the face of all that?
He is actually doing something far more stupid. He is now working against the Gruden deal. Why in the hell would he throw out there that Butch is mad Gruden is trying to take the job from under him? Knowing Gruden would be sensitive to such a thing. This is getting ridiculous.

The premise of the story is this:
Jones's buyout annually is less than his actual salary. Therefore, the monthly buyout payment is less than his actual salary payment. Therefore, it is costing the University money for him to coach. Riveting, huh?
The headline has nothing whatsoever to do with that fact, and poor editing in the copy creates even more ambiguity.
I have to wonder though, would he be able to KEEP that kind of a staff?
Why are we keeping Butch so long if it cost UT more money each month?
Here's how much Butch Jones' buyout fee increases each month | News | utdailybeacon.com
The keeping of them isn't even the goal, I don't think. You actually hope they'll leave for jobs as head coaches themselves. Because you'll quickly get known as the incubator for upward coaching mobility, and you'll continue to have the best assistant coaches and position coaches in the nation knocking on the door to be let in.
So it's a dynamic form of excellence, rather than a static one. But still very, very good, right?

I love Lagavulin 16! Some people are too scared to try because of the Smokey flavor. Yes, you may get burned the first couple sips but by the third everything will feel just right.
i read a post the other day that made sense, but i don't remember who it was.
gruden views himself as a rock star, as well he should. that being said, coaches in the nfl are just coaches. the players are the rock stars.
however, in college coaches are royalty, rock stars, the main attraction, which is why gruden fits college this time around.
interesting thought.
