As was I. Was sitting under the V in the upper deck of the south end zone. Knew we won a fraction of a second before everyone else, since I was perfectly in line to see UF's field goal hook and miss left.

NOO...SIR...EEE! Gives me goosebumps every time I think about it.

Little earlier today (or later depending on your perspective) since I'm heading down for yet another basketball game this evening. The old four letter word WORK.

Well, emotions went from "NO! OMG! OMG! OMG!" to "YES! OMG! OMG! OMG!" yesterday and today. Bounced all over the place like a superball getting hit with a jackhammer for a while, but seemed this afternoon to settle into a standard equilibrium of positivity (did that make me sound smart?). This could be in part by Boro taking a drive to Mexico to purchase an entire truckload of Prozac for the collective forum. He was stopped by Customs and Border Patrol coming back through, but instead of getting jacked up, was sent on his way since the Officer was also a UT grad that completely understood what we were going through and said "have a Grude one" on his way out.

Basilio and Ainge continue to carry enough water for Jones to fill Lake Michigan. Just. Can't. See. The. Writing. On. The. Wall. I mean, c'mon guys, even Hubbs is wavering. Pretty soon even Hyams will be on the train. As soon as Finebaum proclaims Jones is gone and Gruden to the Hill, what will you do then?

Anyway, still no significant, life altering news so to speak. But many still think the deal is in the final stages or finished up. Lots of chatter on VN and TOS...ses about the current situation. What is the plural of TOS? TOSSes? TOSi? Anyway, most of which appears that everything is heading in the right direction. Even those adamantly opposed before are starting to waver. More people allegedly close to the "inside" continue to pop up, but many just cannot be vetted to an extent. This is NOT saying what they are claiming as untrue, but "friend of a friend" kind of posts aren't easy to nail down for veracity, so please don't take offense at what I just said if you are one of those bringing info to the table.

Beaver continues to play games and toy with quite a few emotions. Promised a nice gift in a few days. We could use a Daniela drive by or a nice fruit basket. Or a Chris Hemsworth cameo for the ladies of this thread, but who knows with that cat. No other news on that one post from last night. Though apparently could be either Harry Dunne or Lloyd Christmas based on his locations provided so far. "No, it's a cardigan, but thanks for noticing."

It was rumored Gruden was in Ashville last week and allegedly traveled to Knoxville from there. Some super sleuthing work going into this one.

Otherwise, no real substantial "BOOM!" news or silly canary eating grins from the normal insider crew. Or additional eye rolling from DeerPark.

So, off topic is the word of the day(s) for the most part. We're waiting, some impatient, some patiently, but just waiting for everything to run its course.

I'd love to give some additional B Roll footage (remember that, trolls?) for this update, but it's hard to nail down that one single topic that caught our goldfish attention span for more than three posts.

But it's still two days and a wake up for Doyle's trash pick up. And his Grudometer going bye-bye forever. What Doyle doesn't realize is that thing is like a poltergeist. It will reappear in his home before it's all said and done.

In other news today, construction of the Grude 1 yacht is complete, however, there are problems with registering it. Corporate lawyers HearForGrumors and ClearWaterVol gave a statement saying "the committee is being obstinate and a whole bunch of other nasty lawyer terms and we're going to fight them." When Volnation News reached out to the registry committee, they gave the following comments.

"We'd love to rubber stamp this one, but when your ship is larger than the country of San Marino, we kind of have a problem with registering it as a hobby craft. We'd dearly love to work with Mister Freak, but the Waffle House extension just puts it over the top. Maybe if you reduced the size of the tailgating area and left off the Olive Garden annex, we could give it an official registry. But at the moment, we have to decline any request or have them apply to the UN to become an island nation."

Freak is considering the latter option.

From the entire Volnation News Team, I'm Grand Vol and fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you.

I live near chattanooga. My family (and Sam Rayburn's) was in Wheat, TN, which was taken over in the creation of oak ridge. So we are scattered mostly around the knoxville area and Chattanooga. Mr. SFD's family is from karns. We try to not delve too deeply. The proximity of our family roots is a little disconcerting. :)

That’s cool. My grandmother grew up in Wheat ... had to do her senior year in high school at Harriman because her family got evacuated. Went to a few Wheat Homecomings as a kid. Neat to hear from someone else with ties to the community!

Maybe we should do a roll call?

Here

I was here in 2012, hung out in the fire butch watch thread waiting for Gruden threads to start again.

I lurked in 2012 and created an account (illinoisvol92) and have stayed loyal to the site.. Someone stole my identity in London and I shut everything down...created this account and Here I am

I have a couple of questions because I wasn't here from the very start of this "Beaver Saga".

1. Who is Atlanta Vol? How has he been deemed an "insider". What has he said and how long has he been posting here?

2. Beaver's join date was back in 2015...I was under the assumption that he wasn't really connected to UT or maybe not even a UT fan, but had a connection to either JG camp or one of the boosters (Ergen?). Why would he have joined in 2015 if this was the case? Had anyone ever seen him post prior to all of this?

Thanks in advance.

1. Atlanta Vol has not only been very accurate in recruiting news but is a multi-million $ booster with very real access to the program.

2. Beaver is a UT fan, he has said this in past posts as well as other things that have been said or deduced, he's as much as a UT fan as you or me.

Atlanta Vol is a very respected member that earned his "stripes" in the recruiting forums as being someone that is extremely accurate.

As to #2, I don't think anybody really knows...which adds to the intrigue.

Thanks. Was AV's last post the one where he had several paragraphs talking about the meeting that was happening?

For the new folks, here's Atlanta Vol's last post, from 11/2/17:
Sorry to everyone for not being around much but there has been A LOT going on. This week has been an utter **** show....on so many levels.

Their has been hesitation internally to let butch go early due to the reputation that UT has gotten in that regard externally to the coaching community...however I think the hand may get forced on this one. And when I mean let go I mean publically let go....lets not mix that up. He is gone no doubt about that but the timing thing is really playing havoc on this whole process make no mistake about that.

I was delivered either an incredible smokescreen yesterday or something that tells me there is trouble in paradise on the gruden front (lets say it went along the lines of currie reached out to xyz coach to gauge interest what are your thoughts... I won't name the coach as I don't want to throw gas on that log) . I can't tell which yet but I have been on the phone all morning with one of the larger boosters (in ktown) discussing our wonderful browns owner who literally could screw up anything he gets involved in so that tells me all I need to know on that front. Now take all of that and couple it with the next important piece of info.

I was then informed early today of a meeting that will take place that I am supposed to attend (can't give timeline out) that will be about a very large donation opportunity for some folks in attendance. Now I can't imagine in my right mind that they would approach anyone about a meeting like that unless there was something extremely positive was going to happen.

I think the band is about the start playing...the biggest question will be is it who we want playing or not.

My Grudometer calls to me from beneath the pile of half eaten TV dinners and empty beer cans.
Yet, I still resist it's siren call.

They jumped the shark with that one IMO.

Not really sure why it's so improbable JM was on a list for OC? Obvious question is "why", anyone can see that but Bruin came in implying it was stated JM was being touted as JG's OC. Not true.

Hipster contrarian approach...I get it.

And here is what Atlanta Vol said about his bringing of info:
From my perspective I put my odds at JG coming at 65-70%. I don’t think it is a done deal per se like MIT does....but i could certainly be wrong...I Had multiple smoke screens thrown my way throughout the week. Earlier in the week i was 50/50 but man there is so much pointing to this thing getting done and the right people to get it done being involved that I feel like it will be a total collapse on our side if it falls through. So I am hopeful...and let me also be clear. In the event i got word that this deal was 100% done before it was announced I would never give that out in this forum...not my place to do that and certainly there are some things you just let play out....and I have a role with this university that I don’t want to jeapordize So enjoy the ride..

In regards to butch...that ship sailed...I didn’t however hear anything in regards to this timing i have been seeing after the KY game. I also haven’t really asked that question though. My focus and attention has been ensuring the program know where i stand on the current situation and also trying to help keep some of these recruits at bay while the ship is falling apart if that makes sense.

Someone said there was a room registered to Charles Lee Ray that night but I couldn't tell if he was serious or not. Are you saying there was a room registered to Cindy?
We know "Jon" didn't have a room there, thanks to Sara.

Using a fake name at that hotel is so very common, honestly there is no telling what "fake name" was used. I just know the room was originally book under Cindy for whatever that means. I mean when I worked there we had Willie Nelson (singer/actor), Will Patton (actor), Chris Daughtry (singer) and Kevin Costner (actor) all in one summer visit with all in poster names checking in

So if there was a room registered to Cindy, that means beaver knew Gruden was there (since he posted the pic of Grove Park).

I have seen nowhere else any rumors of Gruden being in Asheville. I really do not think beaver could have just gotten lucky on that guess. This may be the biggest indicator the beaver really does know things.
