FYI long post incoming:

I had no idea before this coaching search how many people I knew from mutual friends or family friends. Now I’m from chattanooga, born and raised and becoming more active in the community as I’ve gotten older. There truly is a movement here in chattanooga of boosters that were once low level who are now moving to mid tier. I had no idea how much money was around here and many of them congregate at the Honors and local political gatherings and are involved in a multiple businesses as investors or board members.

1. Heard from another family friend today that Hullco who is close to fulmer is pushing for Gruden.
2. Barry large who sold a logistics company is valued anywhere from 50-100 million and he and his family bleed orange. I’ve now heard he’s pushing Gruden and is working with other boosters to make sure this deal doesn’t fall through.
3. My super close family friend who works with the Luptons said they are still pushing for Gruden and thinks it’s happening. Actually he doesn’t seem in the least bit worried which makes me even more confident.

All 3 of these people know one other and that’s no coincidence. Two of these men know Peyton and have even golfed with him at the honors a time or two.

I’m not an insider but I’ve been investigating and reaching out to friends and getting anyone to talk that’s willing and if not I keep trying. Luckily several of these convos over the last few weeks have been run ins so it’s more difficult to lie or ignore someone when it’s in person compared to the phone or texting.

With all that I’ve pieced together on top of what message board insiders are saying across the board I think all the information which has been a few weeks behind is now starting to come to light. (I believe one poster confirmed this before) I did ask one of my contacts about Gruden and if there was any truth about wanting to be respectful about a coach who is currently not fired. He responded that’s why there has been a lot of smoke bc Gruden does NOT want to be viewed or portrayed as a guy who’s trying to remove a sitting coach.

One told me the smart money placed bets weeks ago. That seems to be true as well. I wish I had listened a month ago. Anyways hope we can have a VN get together and celebrate once this is over!

Barry Large and his partners made a killing off selling Access America to Coyote Logistics after they built up from the ground Access. Smart move. I've been in Logistics/Last Mile 24 years now and I have to say I was impressed myself how Large and his partners built up Access from the ground.

Tony B is reporting that CBJ is going to Boosters saying he will fire all his assistant coaches if they give him another year and don’t fire him. Tony B also reporting that CBJ is telling the players they are trying to hire Gruden underneath him while he’s still coaching. CBJ if this it true is trying to play his on players against the school, I don’t like this at all In fact it pisses me off. If CBJ is really saying this to the players he is trying to turn players against the school and each other. Again just passing this alone

Butch is a low life sleaze if he is saying those things to the players- he sounds like a desperate idiot trying to burn down everything in his path along with his career. Butch should be removed from the university immediately if this is true. So help us he better not succeed. Hopefully Gruden is indeed going to take this job or we are screwed in every way.

Fully agree, however, I can understand him fighting for his job, but pinning the kids on this is way out of bounds!

I always thought Butch was good for the kids and program in general, but just so happened he couldn’t actually coach football. My perspective changed earlier this season. I was catching up with a friend from high school. He is extended family with a player that left UT. The stories he was telling me turned my stomach. I can’t wait for Butch to be gone.

Exactly...Butch Jones may not be much of a coach, but he's not stupid. No way he tells young players to support him because if they don't, they get to play for a Super Bowl Winning Coach.

My husband was talking to me about something yesterday at breakfast and I was so engrossed in catching up on here, I didn't even hear him. He asked if I could keep the gruden obsession off until after breakfast.

No worries, it moves fast. The Neuheisel piece being Colorado makes sense, but I can't imagine Neuheisel plus McDaniels unless the locations are meant to be possible staff members

Did any of them go to MIT?

No one went to UT, one went to Samford and the other UTC. All reside currently in chattanooga.

However, I know 6 people with honors membership that I’m aware of. If I wanted to find out who beaver was I’m confident I could. However, out of respect for his privacy and the rules of this board I’m not going to try and it also really wouldn’t do much for any of us if we knew who he was. Hopefully he continues to provide updates or insights to how it’s all playing out.

Lastly, I felt this was the most important part of all my conversations. EVEN if we do not get Gruden(I do believe we will)... the vast majority of boosters want to make TN great again. That’s not a lie. For the first time in years I feel as if the pendulum has swung back in Tennessee’s favor for football. Also I’m confident that the Bev rumors are false as well. She’s not getting in the way of this not does she care as long as she’s being taken care of. The only thing I couldn’t get any of them to say was where does Haslam stand on this. These men wouldn’t speak poorly or positive about him. Thought that was interesting.

Those dreams didn’t amount to anything obviously because he wasn’t hired..The sidelines dreams are more telling, IMO..

I agree with Hawk about a small world within the Blackhawk Community. Heck, I retired from the artillery in 2001 and a couple of my old soldiers are now CSM's and branch manager's in the "Field of Fire's" network.

The Big Green Machine is honestly a very small world, no doubt.

I ask new pilots 4 things when they show up.

Who were your instructors at Rucker
Where are you from
Do you have a family
What college football team do you like.

After those 4 questions I usually know enough on how to proceed
