Lot of noise for Gruden yesterday and today and Gruden's camp is making this look like this is almost done. I was about 5 percent before, now its 70%

Hard for me to put much stock in this post, but I’m still gonna give it a like because I love me some Grumors.

Man, really hope new coach can reel Mays back into the fold. Our OL depth looks awful for next year, and that's before potential transfers.

Chance Hall - RS JR
Drew Richmond - RS JR
Marcus Tatum - JR
Ryan Johnson - RS SO
Nathan Niehaus - RS SO
Devante Brooks - RS SO
Trey Smith - SO
Riley Locklear - SO
K'Rojhn Calbert - RS FR
+
Ollie Lane - FR
Tanner Antonutti - FR

Losing Kendrick, Thomas, Robertson to graduation, plus Boulware left and Jack Jones done for medical reasons. :thud:

First thought: this place has become almost as bad as the FF.

2nd thought: Cade officially decommitted, so that when Gruden announces, he can commit again and get this train rollling full steam ahead.

I don't understand it. Maybe I am missing something. Why would Gruden want to come back to the college game where he spent about 4 years coaching in the late 80's? If he got back in to coaching I believe it would be in the NFL. I don't think he wants to leave his cake job on MNF!

More from JAV...

"Mr Jim has not been the driver of Gruden to UT. Mr Anderson has been the driving force. Currie has the confidence of those guys and key BOT members. Everyone is on the same page, as far as I know, to get the best HC possible. That has been determined to be Jon Gruden at this point."

If Clay Travis is to be believed, ESPN won't have Monday night football next year.

You are certainly more than welcome to post whatever you please (as long as Freak says so). But those posters trying to persuade Bass using logic and rational thought are wasting your time. Might as well be throwing water overboard with a bucket on the Titanic. Bass is understandably mad at the current state of UT football. But when we struck the iceberg he hit his head pretty hard and is dazed and confused. Save the seconds and minutes of your life trying to show him the error of his ways. The hit to his head obviously jarred a lot of stuff loose up there.

Tis was posted in the Gruden thread a few posts before that one

SIAP

Nothing is a done deal. However, I do know that all of the principles that were fractured in the AD search are currently working together on Gruden. That is a fact. Doesn't mean that he's going to be the next HC but the odds are going up every day. Much higher probability this time around than last. I'll still believe it when I see it but to deny that there isn't a huge concerted effort to bring him here is either agenda driven or ignorant of what is going on.

I think he meant they won't re-up the contract. They still have it until 2021.

Doesn't mean the commentators would remain the same however.

Did he tell you that?

Then why were ainge and Brian Rice so dead set against it this morning. I mean they were making fun of people who believed it, stating it would never ever happen, 0% chance, they would take cash bets against people that thought it would happen

Edit. This is not against you personally I’m just wondering why they are so adamant that it won’t happen if there is this much conversation from the likes of Austin price, Hubbs, and some of these respected posters like LWS and JAV

It's the WNML line.

Smokescreen and misinformation. it’s coming from the AD side which is trying to keep a gag order on the Gruden opportunity. Think about the LWS quote from last night. Gruden wants nothing to be public knowledge so Currie has his media mouthpieces out there trying to clear the smoke.

Cause they want Butch to stay?

They don't really have much info anyway do they? Ainge is good for analysis but never has been a breaking news/source type of guy.

More tasty Grumors from the FF

From TOS.. And this sounds plausible

"Gruden did not say no. This spin was put out there by the Gruden side and the AD side because they were not happy that it got out that JG and Boosters had already been informally discussing things before Butch had even been fired. JG likes Butch and he is trying to be as respectful to Butch in this process as he can. He wants to make it clear he did not campaign for this job and he was approached by UT people, not the other way around. JG is a classy guy, he is trying to adhere to an unwritten code of conduct between coaches and friends.

As UT fans we should know about this better than anyone. Fulmer \ Majors ring a bell? JG wants this process to play out in a respectful manner. He never said no, that is complete bullsh!t."

You will also hear Hubbs acknowledge it but down play it. He is telling folks what he has been told. They don't want anything out right now.
