More from JAV...
"Mr Jim has not been the driver of Gruden to UT. Mr Anderson has been the driving force. Currie has the confidence of those guys and key BOT members. Everyone is on the same page, as far as I know, to get the best HC possible. That has been determined to be Jon Gruden at this point."
I don't understand it. Maybe I am missing something. Why would Gruden want to come back to the college game where he spent about 4 years coaching in the late 80's? If he got back in to coaching I believe it would be in the NFL. I don't think he wants to leave his cake job on MNF!
you are certainly more than welcome to post whatever you please (as long as freak says so). But those posters trying to persuade bass using logic and rational thought are wasting your time. Might as well be throwing water overboard with a bucket on the titanic. Bass is understandably mad at the current state of ut football. But when we struck the iceberg he hit his head pretty hard and is dazed and confused. Save the seconds and minutes of your life trying to show him the error of his ways. The hit to his head obviously jarred a lot of stuff loose up there.

Nothing is a done deal. However, I do know that all of the principles that were fractured in the AD search are currently working together on Gruden. That is a fact. Doesn't mean that he's going to be the next HC but the odds are going up every day. Much higher probability this time around than last. I'll still believe it when I see it but to deny that there isn't a huge concerted effort to bring him here is either agenda driven or ignorant of what is going on.

Then why were ainge and Brian Rice so dead set against it this morning. I mean they were making fun of people who believed it, stating it would never ever happen, 0% chance, they would take cash bets against people that thought it would happen
Edit. This is not against you personally Im just wondering why they are so adamant that it wont happen if there is this much conversation from the likes of Austin price, Hubbs, and some of these respected posters like LWS and JAV

From TOS.. And this sounds plausible
"Gruden did not say no. This spin was put out there by the Gruden side and the AD side because they were not happy that it got out that JG and Boosters had already been informally discussing things before Butch had even been fired. JG likes Butch and he is trying to be as respectful to Butch in this process as he can. He wants to make it clear he did not campaign for this job and he was approached by UT people, not the other way around. JG is a classy guy, he is trying to adhere to an unwritten code of conduct between coaches and friends.
As UT fans we should know about this better than anyone. Fulmer \ Majors ring a bell? JG wants this process to play out in a respectful manner. He never said no, that is complete bullsh!t."
