So are you saying you made your decision before you had all the information?
agreed. i dunno that it means Gruden, but i agree with the premise.
you don't spend $340M for 7-5 football for the next 20 years.
Don't kick me out. I am still full Grude. But, I am starting to lose faith in Beaver. The childish tweets at Currie, the constant changing of the twitter profile pics, and the continual lurking on the thread are not raising my confidence level in his connections. Seems childish/trollish
I hope I am wrong.
Soon.

To UTvolinexile:
Let me state my position. I believe atlvol, dto, bro and beaver. Realistically too much going on for this to be a troll job and the first three names have been around and have been trustworthy. (Bubba is the most intriguing due to how long ago he signed up for an account)
However, I own a business and Ive been told several times that this contract is yours etc etc and something happens or gets in the way. Ive learned early on in life nothing is a done deal until the ink is dry. Im not a sky is falling type of guy either. I merely wanted to post what I saw on my VQ account. Does that mean Im worried? No. I didnt like reading that so was looking to see if anyone in the know had heard anything. As Ive learned in 2012 following this coaching search things change all the time. It doesnt mean anyone is lying or is misleading but simply when politics are involved nothing is guaranteed.
I appreciate the recruiting insiders who bring information bc thats what I follow when coaching searches arent underway. I want to buy season tickets again and enjoy winning like I did when I was growing up so Im all in on Gruden. Unfortunately, if we do not get him Ill still be a huge TN fan and hope we can get a big time coach even if its not the white whale.
I do think some posters are setting themselves up for disappointment. If its not Gruden it doesnt mean TN didnt go all in or the boosters tried their best etc. So, my advice, be willing to accept that and support the next coach especially if its a solid quality hire. Hopefully it is Gruden!!
I wouldnt put any stock in it other than Mays seems to like the attention. If the AD really has Gruden in play, theres no way theyd relay that info to melodramatic kids.
I don't take it as a personal shot at all. However, this team this year can be summed up in one single word:
Uninspired
A head coach's job is to inspire his team to win against the odds. Or hell, to even score against the odds. This team, since I would say Georgia Tech, has not even shown a pulse on the field. And honestly? That comes back to coaching.
My problem (and guess) is Jones has wanted out, but his agent has said "guy, you effed yourself and I can't find anything at the moment." Hence why he would be clamoring for an additional year despite the injuries. my problem with that?
Which year hasn't been plagued by injuries to this team? And now recruiting is taking a nose dive with little coming from the coaches to stop it. That's a defeated mentality by the coaching staff. The only bright spots are the defense for the most part and the RB corps. Otherwise, the team just isn't fired up.
I think Jones took over a dumpster fire and made the most of what he had. I think he brought us out of the basement and this team is standing in the doorway of success. But he hasn't and won't open the door to let them crash the party. I give him all the credit in the world for what he did in the first four years. But he has given up.
Just stop. he ain't coming here.
I'm not going to do the grumors and I'm not going with the "i have a source". I'm just asking if somebody has a few bullet points on realistically why you think Gruden will come here. My mind is made up that he's NOT, but I thought "let me be open minded for a second and see what the logical folks are saying".
I guess THAT was a bad idea.
