Like you, I fear he is going to commit to UGA. Once he does, we won't get him back. I am sad and frustrated about him more than any other 2018 recruit...

It is disconcerting, but nothing is final until the signed paperwork is submitted. I'm going to hold out for the hope that things may change when the new coach and staff is announced.

I really don't have an opinion on him. As an announcer, i HATE him, but as a coach, i don't know. I know that kids like him, they like his QB Camp and it seems he could win the press conference.

So, i'm 50/50 on his ability to succeed. but from the Business perspective, i wouldn't quit my "no-pressure 6.5M a year job" to go back to "high-pressure 10M job". I just wouldn't do it. that's why I conclude, he's not coming here.

I won't burn mattresses if he comes and I won't burn mattresses if he doesn't.

I'm realistic

But if you cared so much for my feelings what took you so long to get here.... I am beginning to thing you don't really care :birgits_giggle:

I
WILL
NOT

i only want you to be realistic and to not get hurt when we bounce down to candidate number 9 or 10, a google hire coach from directional michigan or directional iowa --it's GOING to be ok. We won't burn mattresses and we won't coach-worship.

The next man will hopefully have a higher IQ than current guy and we can try again.

I just don't want you to be hurt.

:)

I'll be fine, thank you.

Funny Coasty! Question, does any long time Vol fans remember the T-shirts that came out when Johnny Majors was let go and Phillip Fulmer was announced as the HC? Something about a pipeline. Just saying "Soon"!

I had forgotten them but I do remember ... lol

I’m still awake because I care.

Stay strong Gruden Faithful. It's a drop in the rollercoaster. Keep the faith.

Willing to leave 3.5 mill on the table huh?

I've turned down jobs that I didn't want even though they paid more than I currently make.

I'm quite comfortable and honestly don't need to make any more money, especially if it came with the expense of a bunch of pressure and an unstable fan-base who does things like #BringBackBruce, #FireButchJones & #EmptyNeyland.

so yeah. endorsements and other "unregulated monies" can make up the difference -- don't confuse salary with how much you make. If he's truly into wealth management, he will be making 11M+ no matter where he works.

but, your mileage may vary.

Except MNF is likely to be cut from the new budget, so that "no-pressure 6.5M" security blanket might disappear. The real question is if he would coach college. Assuming he would, I think its reasonable that Tennessee would be at the top of his college coaching list.

Also, while some of us may not be willing to deal with the pressure, we can't necessarily assume that Gruden would feel the same way. He's the kind of guy who would understand that pressure is part of the package. Who knows? He might even relish it.

I can reasonably agree with both of your points.

Couldn't I use this argument against you? He is a coach after all, right? Coaches like to....coach.

But thanks for the economics lesson.

I honestly wouldn’t care if we lost out on Cade Mays, if I knew for sure we were getting Gruden

I'd make that trade 7 days a week and twice on Sundays. There are a bunch of cade Mays out there but there's only one Gruden. Also, I think we get Gruden, we get Mays, jmo.

Is this like the time you were adamant about having a source telling you that Mizzou was moving their game against us off campus?
