If Gruden doesn't want the job I wish he would shut the notion down, either directly or by back channels and getting other media members to damper some of this smoke.

With how much our fan base has been in the news for negative reasons, I do think it's possible it could negatively effect a coaching hire if the Grumors progress from internet rumors to full blown throughout all types of media. I worry a coach might see a situation where he comes in on bad footing just because he's not Gruden and that might influence his decision

I used to scoff at the notion that the legacies were propping him up- and credit to him for not burning the bridge like Dooley would have- but in hindsight that may not be all that far off.

That’s fair. Things did drop off after he had to change his sales pitch.

Regardless of Deerpark, and more than I've felt both times (Now and 2012) I'm starting to think it really could happen.

Think about that last LWS nugget. According to him Gruden doesn’t want to have leaks in the program. Currie has shown in the past month or so that not only can he make deals behinds the scene, he can keep it for the most part quiet. Currie is the man that can bring Gruden. If Gruden doesn’t come it won’t be at fault of Currie or the boosters.

I had this thought as well. As much as I love the leaks they can lock it down all they want if he comes here.

I’ll allow it. The Knoxville media are clowns anyway. They should just start a softball team. They sure know how to lob’em to Butch every week.

Haha, poster in the FF said- If he murders someone, I'll help him hide the body and never say a word, If it means he'll come here and get us a championship!
