I understand busy! Not everyone lives on these boards.
I included you because while you may not be connected, youve certainly brought a ray of sunshine to the true faithful by explaining some inner workings.
Post when you can, your knowledge is uplofting and valuable.
Aww, schucks.
I appreciate the compliment. I just hate misinformation, and do my best to counterpoint when I'm pretty confident in my knowledge.
FWIW, my belief hasn't changed. All the indicators seemed to indicate that Currie is handling this like a pro. People like to think that he's incompetent, but hiring a football coach at a major program is a big deal for any AD.
It's the equivalent of a baseball player stepping up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, one run down, two outs, and the winning run on second. They've dreamed of that moment for years, and programmed themselves to be ready for it. Currie is no different. He's developed a plan, and a mindset, for how to handle a football coach hire - and he's working that method.
Jones being in until the end of the season is not surprising. It is in line with everything we were told early in the process. It doesn't mean that Currie is sitting on his laurels, or that JG hasn't agreed to come. If anything, I am enthused by that fact. It gives Currie an opportunity to work in secret to lock everything up. As much as it drives us nuts to not know, our knowledge doesn't win championships. Great coaching hires win championships (through all the collateral benefits: recruiting, assistants, fan support, etc).
I'd honestly expect to not hear much for the next few weeks. The only possible news I'd expect would be JC or JG coming out to reject the rumors (which would be heart breaking).
Thus, no news is Grude news.
Enjoy your families, the fall, and each other.
