Here's a thought experiment to help us Grude our way through a full Monday.

Assume it's Gruden. How is he announced as coach? I know we've had MIT on record as saying ESPN will break the news. Does ESPN get a full blown exclusive announcement? Do they leak the prospect? Does Currie keep us on the edge of our seats until we see our new coach walking to the podium?

Whatcha think? Go!

My favorite part of the Gruden Chronicles is the poster who comes in to check the Gruden thread even though they tell everyone it’s delusional to think Gruden is coming.

Didn't mean to rustle your jimmies. I agreed with half your list. Just didn't have time to go into it at the moment. So here you go.

Franklin - Do not like him. Personal and public demeanor, coaching style. Probably would a good coach here, but I'm ready to feel good about a coach.

Fisher - Dumpster fire waiting to happen somewhere. Part of that is just being associated with Florida State though and his handling of Jameis Winston.

Other two, I agree. Good coaches and good level 2 picks.

My deal is with the state of UT football, a splash hire is needed. Only a splash level hire will restock the talent level necessary. That is where we are still lacking the most. And THAT was really the genius of Saban.

Alabama wasn't hurting for talent before him, but his relentless recruiting his first 3 years is still paying off today because the cupboards became full of 4 and 5 star talent and that became the norm and was expected by team members and recruits in the years after as well... They learned to build a cohesive team with multiple 4 and 5 stars at the same position. We get the 4 or 5 star and if they are at the same position, well, one of them is going to transfer because of playing time... That has to stop.

So for me I want a splash hire. Gruden is the rock star right now. College kids know him, like him, seek him out at his camps and will be drawn to that neon light of him as a coach... At least in the beginning. Only the right staff and early success will keep it going.

This is two weeks in a row the QB Club has trotted out a coach who named these same candidates as people to look for for HC jobs. Sending a message to the fanbase?

What a time to be alive, when there is no black or white only gray area. When if it isnt instant it isnt true. Success and building for the future doesnt happen overnight.

Most of you pass over my posts as just more message board chatter, because Im not an "insider", but I am OG, and Ive committed to hope for the best, because there is absolutely nothing to the rest. Make a commitment and stick to it. If Im wrong in my placement of hope then so be it, you wont have to worry about me anymore, because Saturdays will be spent doing more important things than being spoonfed "legions of the miserable" garbage.

But Ill hold out for hope.

Unfortunately, it’s starting to look like we will have to wait until after the Vanderbilt game to end this saga. Hopefully something is already worked out, and the timing benefits both parties. Any guesses as to what thread we will be on before they make it official?

I think the timing adds up nicely to announce between end of regular season and conference championship weekend. Doesn’t take air out of CFB playoff picture and leaves 3+ weeks of recruiting before early signing.

What he said was if Gruden is the 10 then you can judge the other few as 8's but he ruled out Saban, Swinney, and Meyer.

I agree and want Gruden as much as anyone. But just tell everyone what Gruden has done in the SEC? Or college period for that matter?

Believe it was ATL who said that. Said if it was bad hed be back. If it was good hed post under a psuedo, and later his real name to celebrate.

Beav said he wouldnt be back because he was getting doxxed. But said hed be back to celebrate as well.

Hearforngrumors is silent. Bubba is silent. Beav is silent. Atl is silent.

Only ones kicking and screaming are the AD side of things.
