McBride

I keep asking why people want to say Byrd would be a lock down corner. Byrd has never I repeat never played corner in his life. He was a safety:/wr in hs.

Played corner in all star games and locked down that level of competition. And his defensive scheme in high school, had him one on oneing the competition’s top receivers. You think he’s a great WR? If yes, please explain your answer. :)

They just want another reason to pile on the coach. I don't see the problem with burning the redshirt anyway. The guy may turn out to be another Heath Shuler for all I know, but he was a 3 star qb who was going to SMU or Memphis. It's not like we can't get another qb with the same qualifications next year or the year after.
Martinez from Cal and Penix from Fla will be here next year and both are top shelf.

You didn't read my post. I said he played S/WR in HS.

I addressed your post. Don’t think you read mine. He played a different kind of safety in high school. Real heavy cover centric. When he played corner in the All-America games he shined against top receivers. I’ve never seen the same level of play at WR. Everyone’s fretting over burning McBride’s redshirt. The real tragedy is wasting the two years of Byrd playing him out of position.

We can argue about burning McBride's RS but what is indisputable is not allowing him the opportunity to be a real college QB. Anyone can hand the ball off every play. If that is what we see against Missouri we are going to get clocked. Damn the BJ's system, rather watch paint dry.

Why throw the ball when you're up late in the game?

Because he is going to need that experience before the season ends.

Possibly being the reason your team fritters away a double digit lead built after you checked in, isn’t the epitome of education imo.

Maybe CBJ knows this is it for him. Played them for spite against the University and the next coach...Never a doubt in my mind that if something happen that Mc Bride was going into the game.....No hesitation...

Convoluted plot since we ended up needing him. Lot of working parts.

We need him. One of the better Fulmer recruits before he unceremoniously left. Our fan base has been ridiculed and look at the line of coaches since that exit.

Oh, the glory days that have passed and we that enjoyed them are now left with this mess. sad times.
