Why would you pay somebody 9 million a yr who has never coached in college before. Jim harbaugh coached at San Diego St, and Stanford before he went to the NFL. It did work for Pete Carroll although he was defensive cordinator for NC State before he went to the NFL. Gruden was never a cordinator or coach in college. Would he be successful nobody knows. But if your Currie are you going to throw 9 million dollars a year at him. That is crazy. By the way charlie weiss is still cashing checks from ND, after three superbowl rings. What im saying is that if your Currie that is a career gamble like none other.

Market Value alone between ticket sales , merchandise , elite recruits, vendors of every kind will buy into Gruden so the question is ... you spend 9 million to get back how much ?
