Doyle's Grudometer is at 14% this morning.
I want to believe but my pessimistic side has taken over. Despite all reports on message boards and twitter I find myself not only concerned with the likelihood of a Gruden hire but also if Jones is actually on the hot seat at all. I know, I know obviously Lyle's job should be in jeopardy. You see it, I see it, and much to our embarrassment the national media sees it but nothing has been publicly said or done by the AD addressing the issue.
Right or wrong I am at the point of taking a step back from things and taking a look at the whole picture from outside of the echo chamber of this thread. While I appreciate all of the information a lot of you guys bring and don't doubt that you are sincere in your motives, it's getting tough to have faith in it without any clear cut action from the AD side of things. I have read all of the reasons presented here as to why this is but I still cannot convince myself 100% that the theory is a sound one.
Maybe it's from suffering for over a decade of watching our program making the worst possible choices every time all the time. Maybe it's my own fault for buying in so hard back '12 to the point of telling my real life friends who don't do message boards that Gruden was going to be our coach. I had these people believing only to have them look at me like I was a liar when the Jones hire was made. For me, there's just too much similarity to the last time this go around. A lot of desperate wishful thinking to the point people are willing to buy into random new posters dropping cryptic messages then following them like a god.
I am not trying to sway anyone's belief or criticize any information being brought here. I'm just explaining my stance. Like I said before, I've heard enough of the Grumors and speculation from the insiders. It's time to see results and action from the other side and until that occurs, I will have my doubts.
