Official Jon Gruden Thread XXVII

Hmm, so it’s been 36+ hours since beaver has posted just before the booster dinner meeting. That’s the longest he has gone without posting since some tried to dox him. I find that interesting.

IF his influence campaign is what he says it is, and it was all leading up to that meeting, then he no longer has a need to. Guess we’ll see how serious he is. Is he influence, or is he chatter?

This guy, Walt Coleman, needs to be an official VFL. Buy him free drinks when you see him. He is the referee that made the tuck rule call in the 2001 AFC championship game between the Gruden led Raiders and the Pats. It was the straw that broke the camels back in the strained relationship between Gruden and Al Davis. From there Gruden went to Tampa & MNF. This path eventually leads to him to become head coach at UT where he will win more NCs than any coach in NCAA history.

Soon.

I hope it happens.... If nothing else, to see those toothless hillbillies who haven't let the Kiffin thing go years later kiss his ass after he helps us start winning again.

I don't blame Kiffin for leaving for his dream job. It's how he left that has left a bad taste for him at UT.

Tellum D.

I'm not saying I do or don't buy this whole thing, but if I did, I don't think it's so crazy to see Kiffin as OC.

Many questions to answer. One..

If Gruden does come, how long would he stay, why would he leave? Assuming he wasn't fired.

I think he would stay for a decent amount of time, especially if he's successful. Let's say he stays 5 years. He'd be 60 if I'm not mistaken. Would he jump back to the NFL at 60? He's a young 54 years old now so maybe? I could see him retiring here.

If the USC job came open? :p

Seriously, I think it would be for the NFL. If a really "good" opportunity opened up.

That question could be asked about anyone we hire.... who is out there that this would not be a major question about?

I sure am sorry to hear the sad news of your cat. We just lost our Dixie Dog this morning at 6:45. Our hearts are broken. I'm just glad we got to have her home with us when she passed.

So sorry. I know how bad it hurts.

Oh noooo - I’m so sorry, consider yourself hugged.

And why are you not sleeping.... and leaving me alone:)

I’m actually off today! At my daughters swim meet right now, but I get to grill later and watch the game!

I blame Kiffin leaving on Hamilton. Wasn’t the buyout something ridiculously low? Negotiated a terrible contract after firing a future HOF coach. Bizarre.
