Some wonder why Haslam would favor having control over the success of the football team. They point to the Browns. "What? Does he want us to be the Browns"? Thing is i'm sure in HIS mind...the Browns are fine. They aren't the dumpster fire everyone thinks they are. Just going through a transition period. I'm sure the Haslams feel in their mind that THEY know what's best for UT. That the university is best off under THEIR influence and control. We could tell him for hours on end how bad their crappy Browns team is...or how bad UT has been under their influence...but they don't see it that way. They think their way is best...even though we're down now...THEY (Haslams) want UT back as a national power...but they are the ones to eventually get us back to that. Imo.

The planning is done and the battle begins soon.

Have you talked to any boosters recently that would gladly pay $50k to prevent you from hiring another bum coach? @John_Currie

Hey @John_Currie, how much revenue do you lose if #EmptyNeyland takes off? Should only cost $50k in ads to push the fan base over the edge.

The #emptyneyland movement that you fear so much won’t be just for one game, it will go on for seasons @John_Currie.

Hey @John_Currie, do you think Haslam is going to balance the blown AD budget after you take his advice and hire another JV coach?

Everybody clammoring for Frost blows my mind.

I will be sorely dissapointed if we wind up with this type of hire.

Agreed. Lots of smoke and mirrors there. Reminds me of the 89/90 Houston Cougars.

If you're blowing teams out a lot, it's one of 2 things: Scheme, or talent. UT, when we were good, blew people out on talent. Same for Alabama now. UCF doesn't have that much more talent than the teams they are playing, so its scheme. The problem with scheme is that it gets figured out eventually (and quickly in today's football).

Here’s what I hope for. I hope it comes out that an offer WAS made to Gruden and it WAS for 10 million/year so we can at least know TN was serious about being winning this time. All I ask is that they give their all for TN they way they ask each player to do.

clearly the don't care see the last two hires. If I was a big booster worth billions, I would have told Gruden here is 10 mil and another 5 mil for your staff. I'd give him another mil to punch butch in the d!ck for my amusement. 😂

The media is slobbering all over Matt Campbell at the moment. Scott Frost, Jeff Brohm. Whatever... all the same.

All of those names make me gag a little.

I'm Gruden until they fail me....then I'm a Maryville fan. I'll have three more good years of football to occupy me if that's the way it goes.

The bride? What does that even mean??

LWS is dishing his thoughts tonight. Claims boosters pulling in the same direction. That Butch is def out after the season. That JG is a no go, based strictly on his opinion and nothing else.

Others are very clearly stating an orchestrated move led by PM and Ergen to introduce VC cash to the AA side. There are varying opinions being voiced regarding Ergen and Haslam by people considered credible. Some are boycotting Pilot(Hutch) while others are def on the Ergen train.

Supposedly, ATL Vol is there and hopefully he’ll bring some info here.

That’s the culmination of a 5 page thread on VQ started by Hutch claiming a booster battle was on.

They literally hired a bunch of non football people to run their front office. They've actually gotten worse since they've taken over.

I like Larry. I've even defended him on more than on occasion. Not that Im anyone noteworthy, just mean I like him.

I've never been sold on Gruden coming, but Larry said Blackburn was a done deal, right before they announced Currie.

These deals are fluid and usually always moving targets. Im sure Larry tells whatever the current info that he knows. Not purposefully misleading folks i mean.

He is usually correct though, at least more times than not.

Heres to hoping its the "NOT" this time

If all the boosters are on the same page.. explain the holdup?????? What's stopping the action ?

Ah it could mean that JG = "bride" and that he is wanting to much control. Who knows at this point? I can't believe he would let it go this far just to say he's not interested.

I think we get him. Something is happening on the Hill. Soon.....

Well, we are moving slow as **** with Botch and no other names seem to be mentioned.

Either we have our guy and are just focusing on all the other details along the way, or we don’t have anything planned are in some serious trouble.

He 'll tell you he doesn't get everything right.

I was hearing the same on Blackburn from another direction that he was. Neither was right.
