Are we sure the Haslems are against Gruden? It doesn’t make sense. Gruden has Golfed with them, he stayed in their house when he was visiting here and now is buying their house.

Doesn’t sound like someone being a roadblock to me.

It's not just Gruden but a pretty dramatic power swing and structure.

Haslam is term limited out of office. Won't be no more votin' for him for governor. Thought he would run for Senate, but guess not. Too much work and travel and whatnot. He's gonna move into Big Jim's house and be president of UT, which by all appearances is a much easier job.

He has further political aspirations.

Again, there’s the link to the meeting. Items in blue can be clicked for supporting slides, data, etc. This is a massive project. IMO, it will require a rock star coach and team for it to make sense. Given the current state of affairs, it goes without saying that Butch is not that guy. Who is?

Some good stuff in there, if one cares to look. Looks like $27-$30 million annually comes from ticket sales, interesting to know what % of the pie it's overall.

I agree. I have a really hard time believing this narrative. I think people are reaching for a dramatic story that I don't believe exists. I go back to Albert Haynesworth's tweet. He thanked him for trying to make UT great again. He obviously heard something different than what some folks are stretching to believe.

Or he put it out there like look Big Jim you could be the hero and get all the accolades if you help make UT football great again...

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced the Haslam/Currie "side" is misinformation.

-Currie will be a rockstar if he "brings in" Gruden. How do you turn that down?
-While Currie may owe Haslam a thank you for helping clear the path to get his job, I don't think he is dumb enough to turn his back on AA/Boosters and side with Haslam by turning down the new power structure and Gruden.
-I don't think Haslam is actually a roadblock as much as this misinformation is being used to ensure he doesn't pull a 2012 and become one. Once you give control, you rarely get it back, but he would be giving up control to what looks like very responsible parties. Plus, at his age, it is time.

No booster should have the kind of power Big Jim has at UT. UT is an insitution of the state of Tennessee, and Big Jim is not accountable to the state's voters.

Warren Buffet bought 33% of Pilot. Haslams still control with 50.1% of shares.

The deal involves controlling interest (80% or something) in the next few years.

My take, and it’s certainly not rocket science, but it does support the need for a great coach with a very competitive football team....football and major boosters make the world go ‘round!

My question is we’re they all “fed up” then? Had the crap really hit the fan. I know they delivered Gruden on a platter but were they ready to fight? It seems like years of planning and effort have gone into this push and apparently the changing of the guard is imminent. 🙏🏼

I don't know the reason they are back..... I hope they learned by their failure last time, the best teacher is usually failure.... maybe they did.... but I am forced to take a lesser stand than before because of this and oter issues
