Through reading the last several pages of posts regarding AV's post, I think too many people are focused on the reaching out to another coach part and not on the very last paragraph..Either they quit reading after the first couple of paragraphs and didn't read the last part or they just ignored it..May I suggest for those people to go back and read that paragraph..That's the part that left an impression and is the most important part at the present time.:twocents:

SOON

My Grudometer is holding steady.

:shades:

i read it all multiple times ... i'm conflicted still.
blaming it on battered vol syndrome.

Poker is a game where you don't have to have the best hand to win. Poker is really reading other people and reading human emotion, which certainly comes into play in business.

Don't forget the VC angle. I know for a fact that the University has wanted to be a top research university for years and the 85% know this!

Just thinking out loud here, but there could be other reasons other than getting Gruden here that would make a VC firm invest in research for a University. I hope it is the reason, but just sayin.

It's not a slam dunk and I don't ever call cases that. Many a slip between the cup and lip. I will say that I have taken more difficult cases and been successful. All of these cases hinge on perception and character.

Your version of the head coach's duties and mine differ. He might not be calling plays but he's damn sure watching them and the OL gets lots of his attention. If his position is he didn't notice I would make him look incompetent. An expert would be hired, a former coach, to testify that it is damn near inconceivable that Butch didn't notice. It's not a slam dunk, but I am confident I could convince a jury and perhaps more important it provides me leverage.

The difficult aspect of this case is damages. In this case they are uncertain, but the university is going to have a tough time fighting you on this aspect in the court of public opinion. Essentially, you would show the jury that every concussion causes brain damage. Every single one. Even a single concussion can cause permanent brain damage. Blows to the head while suffering the effects of a concussion exponentially increases the odds of permanent brain damage. The NCAA instituted a concussion protocol to specifically avoid the occurrence of multiple concussion in small time frame. UT via it's Jones and Wells deliberately ignored the protocol placing Brett at risk for multiple concussions. I would advocating for punitive damages.

The fact that you're relying on UT/Jones to hire an inept attorney, and the collective stupidity of a jury, indicates you agree with me but just want to argue with me.

I never argued that he isn't inept. And inept != "deliberately ignored". And there is a HUGE moat between "concussions are dangerous" and "this is Jones' fault".

You have a lot more attorneying to do. I get it. You think everyone is stupid enough to hear a sad story about brain damage and want to pin it on the coach. It still doesn't mean that Jones is immediately culpable for an assistant coach defying procedures and doing something behind the coach's back.

No amount of your "it's not about right and wrong, but what I can get stupid people to grant" will change that.

Your information may be correct.... but I have known RockytopSC for a long time... He should be respected in the same manner as OldVol .... He is legit and NO TROLL

If you understand !

I wasn't referring to him, specifically... Just text screenshots in general. His post is what prompted me to post mine, but it wasn't necessarily directed at him. I've seen several others throughout this Gruden saga... Just a reminder to always be skeptical.

someone explain why NONE of the media even some of the local radio shows (swain, ainge, basilio) don't think Gruden is even a possibility

it does seem like a dream we all want to come true... most of us believe... but why don't they have any hope - do they know something we don't or do we know something they don't? :)

Thank you, I was just going to ask who RockytopSC is and why we should listen-I certainly like what he posted
not directed at you personally....that has been or is one of the challenges. Those that have participated the last few weeks and those regulars of VN participating have their own way of knowing who to keep an eye on. Unfortunately, it has required reading thru over <50K posts....gifs, jokes, gorgeous chicks, fights, psychonalysis....etc. Those jumping in every now and then have no clue and would have to pay dearly for a clue !

anyway....Soon !

Exactly what I'm saying. "Just sit tight and wait for us, Jon. A lot of people associated with UT don't want to hire you, but we will apply our game theory and force them to hire you anyhow. Doesn't that sound great?"

Nobody in their right mind would take a job under these circumstances, unless they were desperate. I sincerely doubt Jon Gruden is that desperate.

Talk about over thinking..
