I hope it is Gruden, but am trending away from this will happen. I think the reason that they have not announced that Butch is out is because they do not have a candidate to replace him in the back channels. (Just contributing the exact thing I am criticizing.)

They don't vote about the coaching search at a public meeting. They vote about various financial decisions and where these boosters' money is going. You can look at the meetings powerpoint on the UT website.

I think the reason all of this is going on is because of the conditions he requires to become HC. The Power Player is using this as the leverage to move the university in a new direction...with carrots and sticks! Gruden will get what he wants when the smoke clears.

Ok if I am piecing things together...there is no way that the BOT would vote to approve a massive renovation project with the threats of boosters pulling their money...so a yes vote would probably mean they feel safe that the large donations will be there...meaning that the majority of boosters will be happy.....meaning probably SOON???

in a way, all of this wheeling and dealing sounds similar (albeit in different ways) to 2 first round picks, 2 second round picks, and 8 million dollars to come be our coach (raiders/bucs trade).

if we're willing to change the entire culture, and go to all of this expense and trouble to do it, why wouldn't he want to coach here?

just a thought.

I don't think Buc-ees are franchised. They are moving outside of Texas next year into Florida and either Alabama or Louisiana. Someday they'll be in Tennessee. Maybe send their corporate the story of MIT_Beaver and Volnugs and they will want to capitalize on the publicity (their famous Beaver Nuggets) and get to Tennessee sooner!

This is how I’m reading it. To the majority of people, it will be a boring meeting. But I bet you a dime to a dollar that there will be or has been a meeting today of helicopter ****s to settle this once and for all. So the votes that we actually see and hear at the meeting are as a result of the meeting we know nothing about that may have already happened last night or this am. Make sense?
