"Lock this one down. Jon Gruden, while he did purchase a home in the Knoxville area, has no intention of coaching at Tennessee in 2018. First-hand knowledge from someone who is as close to the man as you can really get"
Can anyone vouch for this poster?
On the whole is John crazy or crazy like a fox debate I would offer the following. (Again not accusing or defending him just a thought). He was able to set up the mid season firing of a TN letterman, national championship, soon to be college HOF, orange to the core coach with one of the win percentages in the history of the SEC. And remember at that point he was an assistant AD but was able to see opportunities and manipulate outcomes to the end he wanted.
I believe this too.
I believe this is fact.
Exactly. It's not reasonable to expect Butch to manage the game while also being in the weeds of every conceivable sideline matter. That's why assistants have responsibilities in-game.
Thus, it is not negligence for Jones to not have known. Negligence hinges on reasonable expectations and personal responsibility. It is not reasonable to expect Butch to know all of the specifics at any given time.
We all pretty much want him gone, but we don't need to create a fiction to do it.

Which would line up with him possibly being in town this weekend...

If he purchased on weekend of Georgia game, it was the same weekend I heard that Butch gone was for sure..
If he closes on the Haslam house as is indicated on TOS that would say that the Haslam's must be on board with the Gruden hire???
Big IF's of course and a stretch... but just a thought
