Official Jon Gruden Thread XXVI

If Kendrick told the coaching staff but not the medical staff he was hurt, which is likely imo, it isn't hartd to see how this happened. The only way he finishes that game is if the medical staff never knew he was hurt. That simple.

If it played out that Kendrick told the OK coach, and the coach said to keep it to himself and keep playing, fire everyone involved for cause, including Butch.

Why’d he tell Lincoln Riley?

"What I heard but can't confirm is that house wasn't on the market until the Gruden's wanted to move here. It's the house they stayed in one or two of the nights when they 'visited'

If no one else thinks that right there isn't telling enough (staying with Haslam). Don't know what to say. Again, I don't know that'll he'll be our coach, but I know for damn sure he wasn't purchasing houses in Knoxville in 2012"

if this is true (not saying it isn't) doesn't it indicate that Haslam is on board? at least is gives that impression to me.

Well, I just bought a house and it took about 5 weeks to close.

Admitting that Gruden is WAY more important than me, if true I have to think that their offer had to be accepted at least a week or two ago.

It takes a week at most for a cash transaction if both parties want it to.

Agreed.

Currie does kind of strike me as the Lord Varys type vs the Greyworm type.

Butch reminds me of Littlefinger. He uses lies and tricks to gain power and control, until people finally figure him out and we know how that story ends.

Speaking of what's the word on that?...hopefully enough reason to fire him already or are you not hearing that

Who cares about the firing. The tone for the relationship between the university, the AD, and the fan base will be set by the hire.

If Currie makes a big hire it won't matter if he fires Butch on 11/1 or 12/1.

Uhh... no? I'm not following how reducing a set construction cost by $10 million can be magically turned into $40-60 million by moving it across ledgers.

Because youre only looking at the construction project...

There is more than one bucket to move money around to/from

Its not multiplication or creating money, its moving whats there...

Or dont you ever have to pay one bill and put off another?

It takes a week at most for a cash transaction if both parties want it to.

This is why I come to this thread.

i still hold to the idea of, this week:

1) Freudian slip - final game
2) scarabbeans meeting (?)
3) BOT meetings
4) if in fact gruden is closing on a house
5) if there is any relevance to it, last high school game friday night
6) gruden at the game, meaning he's probably been on campus after 2 & 3 makes decisions

the concussion situation is ugly, don't know what'll happen, but if this scenario is remotely true, currie is just trying to squeak by this week.

again, i am nobody and i know nothing, but this makes sense to me, and it keeps my hope alive.

jg on mnf said, "i miss coaching."
mit said (in so many words) the wait was almost over.

These are some of my same thoughts, I think this week a lot is and was going down anyway. Like you said maybe Currie is trying to get through it, but I think keeping Jones on the sideline here is dangerous this week unless he truly wasn't the one that messed this up and they know that Jones is not really the one who blundered the Kendrick deal. I have no idea on that just speculating. I do know the SEC official can communicate with the medical staffs and the Jones is supposed to be coaching a game, they are supposed to notify him of any player developments. I still think we get this right there is to much to lose for everybody if they don't. GET IT DONE SOON!

I agree with everything you said. I don't understand having him twist in the wind at this point. I believe there is a reason, but for the life of me I can't get anyone to tell me why.

Buyout money that he has to acquiesce to someone in order to get. Butch was nothing more than a way to buy time. Currie is out of it and he has to pick a side.

Do you think they publicize it? Concussions and CTE are such a national discussion, I doubt when they diagnose it that they’re yelling “Hey! We got another one!” Unless we see a bone poking out of a leg after multiple instant replays, we don’t generally KNOW what a player has specifically been removed for.

No, that's why I was asking for known instances.

Here's the thing. The protocols have been in place for what? Two years now? And in all the games I've been at and a part of, I've never seen a player pulled for that reason at OU or OSU. I'm not saying it was out of public eye, but I've seen the medical observers on the sidelines and never has pulled a player.

I'm not suggesting a conspiracy, but I'm wondering how often that rule is in force.

Haslam will always be a problem. It's a win win for her if what he says is accurate.

I totally understand that.

My point is, I pay attention to Beaver, he makes alot sense. But, you just said it... I'm not as confident as SFD is, that he is in fact accurate.

Not arguing, just put my 2 cents in.

I hope everything Beaver has said is completely accurate.

VQ poster saying closing on house this week- "What I heard but can't confirm is that house wasn't on the market until the Gruden's wanted to move here. It's the house they stayed in one or two of the nights when they 'visited'

I was told during the Georgia weekend they looked at a house owned by the Governor.

I know a lot of this thread is tongue in cheek, but do we seriously have fans who think Jones knew for a fact that BK had a concussion, and then made the decision to play him anyway?

I don’t think he did but I do think one of his assistants did.

There are those that believe Currie is trying to block a Gruden hire.... your opinion ??????

Based on my conversations I don’t think that is the case. I say that because my coach discussions with my guys have included Gruden and it has not been blown off nor have I been told it’s a fantasy.

That infuriates me to no end. I listen to WNML at work all day and the people that call in to defend Butch and blame the players are endless. I can't understand that mentality

Thanks for the info you bring btw. I appreciate what you do! :good!:

The people that defend butch are people that don't have volnation accounts and read what the "connected" people tell us is going on behind the scenes,I can't have any type of conversation with a vol fan and them not say something completely irrelevant to defend butch and yet they act surprised when you let them in on knowledgeable facts and their response is "well I didn't know that was going on" and the whole perspective changes,I take everything from this bored with a grain of salt but if there is anything y'all have a pulse on it is the locker room stuff and any coaching staff that comes along ,that's just facts
