When you hit rock bottom (and we're almost there if not already there), everything and everyone comes together for the common cause. I'm not buying this narrative on all of the infighting. Just doesn't add up at all.

Said it a thousand times here. It will get to the loint of being hopeless...

Then surprise.

Its part of the game

It has been mentioned that a lot of intelligent people have been working on this for a long time."

and there may be the problem......sometimes keeping it "simple" is the best avenue to take! Now I do realize these may be complex negotiations however people who think they are smarter than they are tend to overcomplicate and screw things up in a hurry.......

Morning.

MIT-It seems you and others are implying that the Boosters have gained a stronger hand in the deal, but what about Gruden? Does anything going on-potential lawsuits, additional players leaving the team, Davis resigning, etc, affect Gruden’s desire to take over the program?

How do we know that Haslam is in the group of boosters that want to hire Gruden?

valid questions that i wish someone "in the know" would answer.

The bigger problem is that the more Butch's image is tarnished, his marketability for another coaching job goes down, and in the end costs Tennessee money.

No one wants CBJ. No one is lining up to take him, the idea that there’s a negotiated buyout with a team taking him, seems a bit like the most far fetched idea on this thread.

Hope I’m wrong.

Here's the thing about the concussion protocols put into place by the NCAA.

I'm asking (because I don't know) if any neutral official like the medical observers have ever removed a player from a game to check for concussion without the team's consent?

It's all well and good to have such observers on site for the games and having the ability to make independent observations. But has that ability ever been exercised?

I got all those things too. Priorities, man!

We play at night after the kids go to bed and on the weekends. Video games have always been our “thing” we do as a couple.

Yeah, I did that for a time too but just too tired at night. Awesome you guys still find time for it. It was a helluva lot of fun.

This. As a nurse, the thing that bothers me about is the vomiting in the last secs of the game. Vomiting is a late sign of a concussion. He would have been displaying noticeable signs beforehand.

He was.

Thats why JG was getting sacked a bajillion times.

Watch the film. Kendrick was blocking air...you can even see him jerk in surprise as he realized his defender was behind him...

There would be several reasons why an AD would be against hiring a monumentally expensive, ego driven, power seeking coach, that is foisted on you without say. They are mostly selfish but they would be real.

It did work out pretty well for Bama. The thing about ego driven people is they can't stand to not be #1. They will work harder than anyone to achieve it.

If Currie is against Gruden then he will get freight trained by a cash cow --- well by a no cash, cash cow.

But I thought I read somewhere in one our many Gruden threads that Currie was all about Gruden (from an "insider")?????

Actually the Beav said dont be surprised when its all said and done if Currie doesnt try and act like this was all his doing when it was the opposite.

What was Richmond’s excuse. Poor Kendrick is out there playing with a concussion and Richmond is whiffing on everyone that runs towards him

We agree I was just trying to highlight Currie's and the academic administrations potential motivations for not hiring Gruden.

If Currie wanted Gruden, Butch would be gone.

Just my speculation.

What AD would want this negative publicity that we are receiving?

If even a fraction of what Beaver says is true, these things take time. There would be a tremendous amount of paperwork and and contracts to be negotiated between multiple entities.

Early on, it was stated that one of the motivations of firing Fulmer was that Currie convinced Hamilton that we could get Gruden then. Then Hamilton developed a man crush on Kiffin and went the other way.

I can say that someone very close to the program said that Currie is very methodical and thinks every scenario through before pulling the trigger and they they respect him.

If this is true then this is a no brainer theoretically. I assume it was posted/stated by someone we would likely trust?

Also, at some point early in the first or second Gruden thread someone mentioned Gruden and Currie were "friends", so if true, then once again theoretically, should be a no brainer. Anyone confirm?
