Official Jon Gruden Thread XXVI

The boosters have offered to pay the buyout...
Currie doesn't want Gruden, doesn't want to relinquish power, exactly like Hart.
This is all playing out exactly like it did in 2012.
Except this time the boosters have had time to cover all of their bases.
The boosters have everything covered, including the academic side.

The 20 million dollar question in my mind is this...
WHO is backing Currie? WHO hired Currie?

Many boosters wanted another candidate for AD, one of which most of them played for.

How did you come to this conclusion? Lol.

Why if Currie isn't going to fire Butch? Hasn't even talked to Gruden or another coach?

It is interesting that AtlantaVol has yet to post during this very tumultuous week. Anyone with info seems to have gone dark except Beaver who is acknowledging there is a war going on right now. DTO you still out there?

He’s probably helping Walt Wells pack his sh*t up.
He’ll be back on here after they drop the Uhaul off.

Morning.

MIT-It seems you and others are implying that the Boosters have gained a stronger hand in the deal, but what about Gruden? Does anything going on-potential lawsuits, additional players leaving the team, Davis resigning, etc, affect Gruden’s desire to take over the program?

Currie would do well to learn by his predecessors mistakes who is now out of a job. What idiot AD wouldn't clamor to get Gruden as head coach? Only ours!

What I'm waiting for is concerning the conversation I had with VFLnSFD (I believe was same person)from yesterday morning concerning the separation of the AD and AA as it once was. If we see any type of resemblance of the AD going back to less control from the academic side or Chancellor then I will take that as the sign we all want and need to see if Gruden is a real possibility.

I think it would be pretty clear cut if that decision were to be made.

Didn’t Haslam back Currie...maybe Haslam has the Jones buyout and Currie is trying to hold out till it’s at its lowest...the other boosters have the stick with the carrot?

When I read your drivel and I then see so many posters bowing down to it, I get the same feeling I had the morning I woke up and learned that Trump was elected.

If it made me feel that way, I wouldn't read it. Sure wouldn't comment on it.

I got good news and bad news. The good news is that I had a dream last night and Gruden was indeed the new head coach for UT. The bad news is that he decided to make me the starting QB. You don't argue with his decisions.

Bear in mind everyone. ATL Vol stated if things were going as he expected he would not comment until the deal is done. He said something like enjoy the ride and then I will post. The way he said that makes you think he knew it was going to be crazy until the deal is done.

Bad optics on stadium redesign. “You’re willing to spend $340 million on a stadium but we can’t fire an underperforming coach and hire someone good?”

Butch is gone after this season regardless...

Currie wants HIS man.
Wants to keep control of athletics and money.
Currie isn't working alone.

This is all about money and the control of it. (Power)

Saban has complete control of the football program at Bama...

Gruden will have it at UT.

I hope it happens as it is THE sign that things are changing for the good. I'm hoping it happens and when it does it should make all of us happy and damn near sold on the idea of Gruden coming. Here's to hoping we hear something good concerning this possible change today.

We don't know and I have questioned Haslam from the beginning given his record of failures. It looks more and more like he isn't for Gruden or isn't for the deal the other boosters put together.

Sounds like our clandestine boosters need to assemble an extraction team, grab the Haslams and take them to an undisclosed location where they "learn" to cooperate with the good people of TN instead of perpetually screwing them over.

Could be nothing but that is what I found a little interesting

Phase I was originally estimated to cost $106 million but is now estimated at $180 million. The updated plans will include some visual differences, to be presented to the committee Thursday, said Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations Tom Satkowiak.
