In my opinion this puts the boosters sqaurely in the driver seat. If Currie was even considering bringing butch back this will be leveraged against him. The boosters can now deploy an information warfare against Currie if he is even considering letting butch have one more year or go a different route of another coach. This would have great impact on his reputation along with UTs brand. On top of the VFL coordinator resigning and Jalen hurds family coming out on twitter today it’s not looking good for UT and how it may appear our administration is and has been running things.

If Curry has been the delay and the boosters have been wanting him to move forward with the announcement that CBJ and UT will be parting ways, I don't think he can continue to delay...

As far as the money goes, should free everything up. As far as timing it forces them tonact faster or face higher implications.

Butch can't get a job after this..negotiated contract is messed up..need new contract or fire with cause which will take until after an internal investigation so you have to suspend with pay his HC duties or pay full buyout, stripling as interim, looks bad on UT, for boosters contracts may need reevaluated based on increased cost, Gruden is ?? ...that's where it could go either way

I believe it will give the boosters more buying power with Currie and the AD. Big money can make things quiet. Big money can make good PR as well.

It's very simple. It's called forcing a commitment. Like in chess where you force someone to put a piece into play they didn't want to use just yet.

Or in the military world, you expose a weakness which forces an opposing commander to commit his reserves to counter you. Or accept the consequences of inaction.

I'll take a Hoegaarden please. In the proper glass.
