Strange you said this. My wife is over it. She is a 4th generation alum, her dad was a manager on team in 70’s. And actually lived in a dorm room under Neyland. Has had over 33 family members graduate from UT. We met at UT, but she has ran out of patience.

Living in Georgia for past 10 years has opened our eyes a little. It’s disheartening to realize our school is probably not going to be good again.

My kids try and believe but really only have stories that we tell them. Their interest level is about gone.

Last weekend was the first time that I can remember in 23 years together that I didn’t watch a game beside my wife. She went upstairs and watched TV upstairs.

I am still hanging in there and probably always will I think. My wife and kids are out. My kids are 20, 18 and 17. They have given up on them. They still love the Vols but their interest level has gone.

And this is what should freak out the academic side. It's hard to real in that out-of-state tuition money when kids turn on the TV and see the excitement around other schools and their athletic programs. Bama has leveraged this into a HUGE increase in out-of-state students.

I actually would support a Mullen hire. The guy can coach, recruit and can develope players. With the resources TN has, I think Mullen would bring in Top 10 classes every year and have a explosive offense.

I haven't watched Miss st in a while, what type of Offense does he run? Spread? I really would like to see UT get back to pro sets on offense. I miss those days

It’s a spread but it’s more of a power run set that actually uses the read option. We just run a zone read off tackle 90% of the time.

Don’t even have an opening Jimmy. Why you trying to get one of your clients a job possessed by another?

That’s just what he does. Gets part of the buyout money for Butch then brings in Mullen and gets part of that deal. More money in his pocket. That’s the messed up world of sports agents

Nope. That stuff with Crowder was true. Remember that Cincinnati player who came out and said he saw Butch hit players there consistently?

I've also heard a rumor Butch put his hand around a player's throat in the football cafeteria.

Ah I don't really believe the last part. Butch is a sissy. I don't see him putting his hands on anyone, especially a player who could break him in half, in a violent manner.

Would be the most Tennessee thing ever

Nah,

The most Tennessee thing ever would be for Florida to hire Frost, Chip Kelly go to A&M, Mullen turn UT down to stay at Mississippi St, Gruden to verbally agree to come to UT only to sign a deal with the Buccaneers, and UT to end up with Scott Satterfield.

That's funny. My girls are little, but my oldest (6) was watching a piece of the Notre Dame game with me briefly because she was interested in their gold helmets. I told her who Notre Dame was and that they were a good team. She replied: "Why don't you just pull for a good team, daddy?"

All I could do was laugh. I've got nothing. 6 losing seasons (likely) in 10 years is bottom of the barrel in FBS. And they aren't just losing seasons - they are mostly drama-filled, spiraling disasters. I've got no arguments anymore when someone tells me Tennessee is basically Nebraska - or really worse. Nebraska hasn't been this bad!

Why? Why? Does everyone continue to want to run out of a pro style offense? As time goes by, things usually evolve into something better. This has happened with football, even in the pro's they tend to run out of spread sets. The spread>then running the i-formation. When will Tennessee fans ever get this?

How many snaps did the backup play, due to injury, against the 2 most physical defenses in the SEC earlier this year?

If someone gets hurt, that’s a different story. If it’s for 1 play because his helmet came off (which is explicitly what the tweet says) that’s moronic. So par for the course regarding personnel decisions under Butch.

Which two defenses? Georgia one of them? Where’s that QB? Just sayin that if you think one QB can get through LSU and Vandy unscathed, you must hum Jiminy Cricket’s most famous song incessantly. :)

That's the odd thing. Beth had put something up Monday night on social media but took it down. Stated something like can't stand people lying. I think most including myself assumed she was talking about VC and his comments. Could it have been the other way? It's no longer on her page.

Who else has issued a specific statement about her son? Not Currie, not Butch. Trust your first instinct on this one.

Good point, not many QBs survive that vaunted Vandy defense these days.
