I've no doubt he's not coaching in 2018. I just have no clue why they are so stupid that they want it out in the media that Butch can possibly save his job.

Saying anything else would make it look like the university is unsupportive of their coaches. Also maybe makes Butch look a little better.

Really interesting Finebaum show right now. He and Vince Dooley talking about how athletic departments work and how Athletic Directors share information amongst themselves in hiring coaches and developing contracts.

They were definitely (without calling out names) talking about Butch and how the hell he has this enormous buyout without having the background of a highly qualified and quantified head coach.

Yes but I'd assume it would need at least a day to consult with the attorneys to ensure it wasnt a possible wrongful termination lawsuit in the future.

I would imagine the allegations of a concussion were known to UT prior to the articles and speculation online. The game was four days ago. I would expect action by now if action was to be taken, but I'm not a lawyer.

The last time I took a break from UT football was to follow Lou Holtz to Notre Dame. I'll take another break if need be !

Per Hyams again today....Currie not looking to remove Butch, hopes he wins out and he's able to keep him at UT.

Scary, because Hyams gets straight AD party line information. At least that information they want spread around.

I don’t believe Hyams at all. Hopefully, Currie is smart enough to realize that keeping Butch at this point would be career suicide. UT football is burning to the ground. As far as this has been allowed to go, Currie better deliver a home run hire or he’s toast in the court of public opinion.

I think I can speak to this. So, I'm floating along, buying what the Beav is selling and perfectly content.

And then Hyams or another idiot that I KNOW is a mouthpiece says something so completely contrary to what I think is logical, and, despite my best effort to stop it, doubt creeps into my mind.

Butch continuing to be around the program and make appearances at pressers will always keep a little 'what if...' whispering in my ear.
