Empty Neyland Movement (#uncluttervolnation)

[/B]

Go buy some UGA gear where you feel like your $$ is well invested then like jakez4ut said. If you can't be there for the rough times then you can't come back for the good times.

Theres a whole generation of Vol fans that dont know what the "good times" feel like because the Vols haven't been nationally relevant since the mid 2000s.

The admin seems perfectly content to make decisions to keep us mired in this mediocrity. That's why people are fed up. Our admin has proven that they are not committed to winning on a high level.

Funny you bring UGA into this. UGA is ranked #1 with a 2nd year coach and UT is fighting for last in the SEC with a 5th year coach. If anything, they prove that the right decision-making can lead to better results

What do you think this strategy will do to recruiting?

How do you think coaching candidates will view this?

I am all for it if you say, "If CBJ is still here at the beginning of the 2018 season, then we will have a #EmptyNeyland campaign"

That is fine because you have put it out there that this will happen if he is still here, but to want to do it more than half way through the season with a recruiting class that is already crumbling is the dumbest thing I have seen.

These young men that are playing on that field have done nothing to deserve this. There are some out there that only have a handful of football games left in Neyland, but also a handful left that they will ever play again.

I want CBJ gone just as bad as the rest of you, but this campaign is going to do nothing but hurt our program even more.

Not smart, this affects recruiting. Brown bags do as well. recruiting is everything.

Oh this is true. I have friends that bought season tickets to get seats when they did this when bama fans were bailing.

I have been a season ticket holder since the year BEFORE Shula got there and my donation amounts have never gone down. Not once. But believe what you want

And I really do not mean to sound argumentative si I apologize if it comes across that way, just trying to give my first hand account

I agree with you 100%, and will enjoy the short lines to concessions if the stadium is empty.

The friends I know that did this got letters about waving the donations or lowering them for luxury seats to come back after canceling their season tickets. So maybe it was just for some people that cancelled their season tickets after years of being ticket holders?

Could be. Or maybe they lowered the upper most levels keeping the smaller ones the same. I guess that could be possible.
They haven't lowered them since, obviously. lol

Every time i went to the game i spent at least 10 dollars on food and drink at the stadium. That is a pretty conservative estimate on my part. With that said lets assume that everyone averages 10 dollars for food on game day. With 100000 people in the stands that figures to what a million dollars . Now lets say 30000 people dont show up that would be 300000 dollars that they lose on food alone . The AD will notice this along with the boosters. Thats at the stadium . What happens on Cumberland ave will be noticed by businesses even more. These business owners will be voicing their displeasure with the AD and the Haslams. My point is that its not just about ticket sales guys . Its items bought at the University store its paid parking its restaurants down on Cumberland. It will be noticed and people will complain to the powers that be that their handling of the situation is costing everyone money.

That could have been the case I just remember them canceling tickets and then getting letters about waving and/or lowering the donations for the right to buy the tickets if they came back.

Gotta believe every time John Currie reads this tripe he giggles, opens up this years ticket sales records, then outright laughs his ass off. UTAD has already banked this years ticket sales. This just punishes the current players and the local vendors. It does hurt concessions granted, but you can show up to the game and hurt concessions too.

#fillneyland

This is what I'm going to do. Everyone shows their disgust for the state of the football program in their own way.

Attention whoring? That's a bit extreme don't you think..

People express their views and try to sway others to their side of things.. It goes on every day in this country. It's part of living in a free society.. Nobody is being coerced into doing this. It's not a bad thing..

I saw this on twitter today and thought it was a great idea. Instead of some stupid empty Neyland movement, how about you donate your unwanted tickets to local organizations. Let’s give these kids the opportunity to experience Neyland Stadium. Look at this way- Hell, if we don’t, they’re likely to grow up to be Bama fans, and do we really want them to have to suffer like that as adults? :p

Also, to all those with season tickets that don't want to attend because they are angry there's a campaign where you can donate your tickets to our local South Knoxville Elementary school for underprivileged kids to be able to attend a Tennessee game.

Campaign sets out to have school kids benefit from #EmptyNeyland movement

If I were a betting man, I would out money on the Athletic Department being the instigator of this. Looks like they are going character assassin propaganda mode. "People who dont want Butch Jones HATE KIDS" Boooooooooo!
