Ok. I agree he likely wasn't evaluated

It 120% isn't Butches job to evaluate players for concussions

Maybe not evaluate but coaches have a pretty good idea if a player is concussed or not. If they have any thought that they are they have to be checked out and cleared by medical personnel before they are able to play again. Concussion protocol.

You telling me Butch didn't angrily question Wells, probably multiple times, on why Kentucky had put up a tent and started a fire on top of JG?

And you want me to believe Wells didn't look in the face of BK and have a clue that his bell had been rung?

I find that hard to believe.

If that was the case it shouldn't of been a tough decision to replace someone who was not performing all that well.

This won’t be something that will get Butch fired “for cause” but it could be enough for Currie to finally pull the trigger.

With all of these insiders being repeatedly discredited and the fact that boosters and administration still seemingly aren't on the same page, I think everyone should brace for impact.

Nothing has changed. A decade of misery and we've still got people more interested in swinging their johnsons around than actually, you know, fixing the football program. Our top division rivals are firing 10-win coaches while our university president is dancing over trips to the Gator Bowl.

I'd say we're Nebraska now, but given the Huskers' record over the last ten years as compared to ours, it would be unfair to Nebraska.

You just contradicted your entire point before the end of your first sentence. Boosters and Admin not being on the same page are only rumors. Same "insiders" that have been discredited as you say.

Not anymore. They literally have no authority over the medical staff.

Over rule? Totally agree.

The practice of "hiding" players from trainers has been going on for ever. That hasn't changed even with the new focus on head injuries. Once a player gets to the trainers, the coach no longer has a decision to make.

As stated before, I don' necessarily believe that happened here in this case. But its the only way Jones or the staff can be tied to it.

I agree. Who did they have as options? I think we are down to a former TE converted to tackle. What if Butch said no way, I need this win too much?

I have no idea if that happened, obviously, but the depth was/is a real issue.

This isn't Varsity Blues.

In your attempt to be as passive aggressive as you can be, you made some really large leaps in logic. He threw up in the final seconds of the game, not throughout it. He wasn't staggering around, he was playing football at the same (admittedly poor) level as before the concussion.

You're acting like any layman can easily identify any concussion. We all watched him play and none of us noticed an obvious change. Some concussions are subtle, that's why even trained medical specialists need a whole host of tests to identify a concussion.

All I'm saying is this:

We now know he was concussed
We know he threw up, even though it was toward the end of the game.
It has been reported that he was showing other symptoms, even on the field. (Again, can't remember where I saw that)

I am make no bigger leap than anyone on this matter. You and others think that it is plausible that he was concussed for a whole half of football and no one noticed. I too think that is possible. But, I find it more likely that someone noticed brushed it off.

And you’re acting like you were on the sideline and you know for a fact that he showed no signs of it. Eyes glossed, not totally there, etc. are all signs that a coach would notice. As much as we are assuming that the signs were there, you are assuming just as much that they weren’t.

That's fair. It would have to be deliberate and calculated, and I just don't see the evidence for that.

I feel even the thought of this happening has the Athletic Department nervous. That is why Currie released a statement. This is an SEC/NCAA issue and even a legal issue. This will get out of Currie's hands quickly if there is any truth to this. IMO Currie issued the statement to get ahead of the situation and now will go back and figure the situation out. The SEC, will probably also look into the situation.
