one telling thing from that quote to me, was they kept talking about expectations but never said they were actually followed....
Gruden has 10 million on the table boys, no decision has been made yet. It is all dependent on him getting a couple more things that he wants. This is not just for his Ego like many say. He will coach here or in the NFL next year. He will not talk to any other college.
The Colts tried to get him last year and he turned them down.

STATEMENT FROM TENNESSEE VICE CHANCELLOR/DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS JOHN CURRIE
"The health and safety of our student-athletes is our number one responsibility. Our sports medicine staff and team medical personnel have full autonomy and unquestioned authority during all team activities, including the ability to remove a player from competition and 'return to play' decisions. At all football games, the Southeastern Conference has a trained independent medical observer present who also has full authority to stop play and remove a student-athlete from competition for assessment and/or treatment.
"We have a constant and consistently communicated expectation that all coaches, staff and student-athletes remain attentive to ensure that any potential injuries are appropriately addressed-with full intentions that student-athlete safety is never compromised."
The Beav came in last night and confirmed that the vc's interest is to funnel research opportunities to the university. It is an invaluable resource to the academic side. Presumably this is to counter balance "perceived or realized inefficiencies suffered" from the deal.
After Cut left (the second time), Fulmer made a bad decision in hiring Clawson as OC. He went against his own judgment and hired an outsider based up on all of the external complaints of "we need new blood" and that led to his downfall.
